Anyone else have an ares dsr-1?

Hello to all, I've recently purchased a DSR-1 and was wondering if any of you might possibly have one also ...personally I FREAKIN' love it , the scope is something to truly behold...although the scope itself could be a little intimidating, if you've never seen it ...man what a light show inside of this thing...I wish to post a picture but I really don't know how to do that..yeah I got a dig. camera..I really could use the assistance from someone to guide me through this process , Yeah so I'm a rookie at this process ...well you all were at one time ...NO?

I doubt there's much people from Canada with one of those.

they cost over $1300 here

Any apparently they suck pretty bad...

The one that Airosft Austria reviewed broke multiple times during the reveiw.

... If all you're looking for is a clear scope.. buy a mid-grade real-steel scope... I have no idea why anyone bothers with airsoft scopes.. the eye relief on them is awful.

Yeah I saw that review too, but let me just say that those guys ended up with a lemon because the one in my hands works like a charm and is put together quite well so just because one is a lemon does NOT mean that they all would be the same.IE; My buddy and I drive the same model of car and his has been in and out of the shop so many times I've lost count ..and mine well oil changes and that's it...but to each his own ...I do not regret making this purchase and yes it comes with a hefty price tag ..but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for"...as for the scope ...well...The eye relief can be pretty bad but I honestly cannot say that for the scope on this beheamoth, besides show me one sniper rifle that works just as well without the scope , is that not the whole idea of sniping...FROM A DISTANCE...unless your steve austin"6 million dollar man"..lol.. or are you too young to know the character? Thanks for the input anyway ..i appreciate it..peace man...

... Where'd you get a DSR-1 without being age verified??

I know what a lemon is... but the way that it broke in the reveiw isn't the fault of a lemon.. Unless they changed their build materials the metal is still cheap.

There's plenty of sniper rifles that work just as well without a scope... I used a VSR-10 with Iron sites for about 6 months.

1300 isn't that much for a good sniper rifle... I've got over 2 grand in my VSR-10.

I'll have to check out the eye relief on one of those things myself... So far every single piece of airsoft optics I've seen has had terrible eye relief (4 inches or less.)

Thats what I would like to know as well.

And the issue about scopes on airsoft guns, you don't need a scope. One could do without since most scopes are sighted for distances beyond the reach of our bb's. Its good for sighting and spotting targets, but thats about it. I most use iron sights for BA's as well. Works for me, so far. Not like Ive been operating a BA for eons or anything, but my time with a BA has been using iron sights.

Isn't Brampton in Ontario?

Rock 'N' Roll Outlaw March 10th, 2009 01:04

Thats what threw me off as well. Unless theres also a Brampton in the US that has a high middle eastern and indian population to be referenced to as Bramptonistan.

Skladfin March 10th, 2009 01:08

sorry my mistake, i thought I read it somewhere that he posted and said he was from the US.

Hey ROCKER, EDWARD here ..all I've shot at so far are non-human targets! ..so I guess it works for me(scope that is) as for the rifle itself.. to each his own, i also have a VSR-10 which is fun.. also i owned this weapon before finally getting on this site ..so being age verified is in the works ..as for where this weapon came from..I have friends in high places and the rest is classified ..no disrespect to any of you..don't take it the wrong way..I'm not bragging.. i'm looking to make friend's here NOT enemies..as for my location YES BRAMPTONSTAN ONTARIO CANADA EH!..peace to you

That's what I was thinking..

But, I can easily be proved wrong by a picture of a DSR-1 next to an iron maiden shirt... or a piece of paper with "edward" and today's date written on it :)
