Yugoslav/Serb impressions

I know there's alot of yugoslav, serb surplus floating around ebay and such, anyone had any experiences/luck locating some authentic things (All i have is my father's service uniform from the JNA from years ago)

It's quite hard finding pictures of units within the era (I'm assuming 90's) to base a kit off of. I'd like to do one also as there is a massive amount of serbian surplus floating around as you said.

Ever think about doing a Chechen kit? Much easier to do (But a little more pricey).

I'm going to look around some of the serbian language sites to see if i can get some accurate images. I think it would make a hell of a loadout- especially with the material so cheap, i have so many JNA military patches.

I've never really thought about/seen a chechen loadout

The M90 BDU i believe was used during the Yugo civil wars and there are alot of them on ebay with serb patches. As for right now the Serbs are working under Model-21 which is upgrading most of their equipment and they are working on (if not completed) their own type of digital camoflauge.

Where are you from Relja?

(Ja sam iz Sarajeva)

I figured I could get myself some M90 BDU's but I might pick up some stuff if I can this summer when I'm travelling there

For a good source in impressions you should check out the OSPREY book on the conflict.

I'm going to try and get my hands on a m90 bdu, a couple of the guys out here want some cheap woodland stuff and i think it would look awesome if a bunch of us showed up in yugoslav camo to events :)

Would be a nice scenario... specially if you made a 3rd UN force :P

Jimski March 25th, 2009 15:38

Check out red-alliance.net Couple of guys from there have decent Yugo impressions.

phantastik March 25th, 2009 17:27

If anyone has a full bdu picture (red alliance doesen't distinguish enough for me to recognize) that would help alot!

Probably the same M90 Bdus. Thye were JNA staple. Although you probably could use just basic woodland.
