KWA M9 PTP review/pictures

Hi guys, as you know already from my mopic review, I received this KWA M9 PTP. There is already an excellent review of this airsoft here on this forum, but a new one could be refreshing. My last GBB was a KJW M9 Elite IA so I will compare both, even if it is been more then 2 years since I sold this one.

The box is beautiful, it comes with cheap .2g bbs, hop up key and silicone oil, wich surprised me. What surprised me more, is the emptiness of loading rod... must load the magazine by hand, wich is long. Anyway.

The gun is very heavy, around 1.1 kg and the weight is well distributed, even without the mag. The KJW version had a bad ratle when the magazine was in, this one doesn't ratle at all and feel stronger then the KJW one.

On apparence, the gun is empy of any brand and marking, wich I founded cool on the KJW one, even with his fake product number. But it is only blingness factor anyway.

The gun come with a plastic outer barrel with a orange painted nozzle, wich I painted back in black.

There is 3 distincs with dots on the sights to help accuracy. The power seem stronger then the 330fps KJW, wich is normal since it is rated at 360fps. The blowback is strong and crisp.

In conclusion, the quality is nice, all metal (almost) constructed, easy hop up adjusting, strong and accurate, so a good buy :)

how are the groupings and arnt theys ksc compatible? also do you find the kick harder than the kjw my kjw i have a 150 hammer spring and it kicks hard how's this thing stock. also forgot to add is the mag catch plastic or metal???

I didn't do grouping test yet and I read that KWA are clone of KSC and KJW are clone of Marui. I had a home made mofidy hammer spring on my KJW and both are equal, both have strong kicks. I will chek for the mag catch and I'll answer back.

Also forgot to mention, for people experiences with this new version of the KWA M9, a list of compatible upgrades would be great:

high flow valve
enchanced recoil and hammer spring
6.01 thigh bore

In terms of the groupings, I haven't actually done any testing, but using 0.20s gets you about the same range as 300 fps AEG with a poor grouping (about 2 hits on a 1 foot target at 120 feet out of 10 shots). Any of the parts for the KWA PTP M9 are compatable with the KWA M9 "Heavy", which are the available upgrades for the KWA M9. The only thing that isn't compatable are the mags.

In either case there are no upgrades available for the M9 PTP (as KWA has thrown the best of what the have into it)....so there is no point in installing an enhanced hammer or recoil spring, and it already has their high flow valve. Though a 6.01 TN barrel would be nice to see.

hows the recoil? i have the p226 PTP and the recoil isn't what i hoped for. i am saving up for my m9 ptp.

I wouldn't say it kicks like a mule or anything as such, but it is fast, crisp, and strong compaired to any other unmodded pistol.
I'm very pleased with the one I got last season, and it has served me well. Though I have not handled a p226 in the PTP version...I knew better than to get one.

Didn't realse there was already an high flow maybe this is the difference of 30 fps between KJW one and this one. I guess the blow back isn't as hard as the Desert Eagle hard kick. I wish there would be a full metal version with 8mm bbs ^^

LOL....absolutely right, 8mm BBs rule.

I don't know why they don't make this kind of models. I think there is some Python Revolver with 8mm bbs

I own one of these as well and they are by far better than any stock GBB made today. As far as I know they were initially made for Police & Military training. The only down side is that the magazines are more expensive than regular GBB Magazines.

I know they have ohters BGG with the "PTP". I does feel sturdy and stronger ^^

Steel frame? I highly doubt that.
