The Non Credo AK Travesty...

this gun cracks me up. honestly, i look at it and I cant help but laugh.

It was developed by yours truly for the express purpose of creating a horrid travesty, and disgracing an AK with rails, AR stocks, etc., such that "traditional" AK fans would vomit if they saw it. I've tried my best. Here ya go. pr0n:

...so ridiculous its absolutely awesome (lights a G&P M3 w/ SF P61)

(again, light is G&P w/ SF P61)

Its still a work in progress, but its very near completion. All that is needed now is small stuff, such as the selector switch screw I've seemed to have misplaced during all the work. Note the enlarged mag release, extended trigger finger tab on selector switch, and recess in selector switch for bolt carrier retention.

ohoho yeeeess.

Markings on receiver...

Note insanely large bolt carrier lever, designed to sweep up above the profile of the receiver Galil-style so one may rack it with their left hand simply, quickly and reliably. The inner barrel was cut and the muzzle beveled to fit within the new flash hider.

bolt carrier retained, hop up exposed.

Romanian realsteel handguard set, note the beautifulness.

PARTS:
Believe it or not, it started life as an ECHO AKS-74UN
-G&P AK receiver, grip, stock adapter set (receiver had to be dremmeled to fit)
-Dont know what brand buffer tube, 6-position though
-Guarder tan Modstock (compartment tabs removed)
-G&P singlepoint tan bungee sling
-Element X47 bolt carrier, mag release/trigger guard, selector switch set
-Landarms AKS-74 UN rails, (a LOT of work to get to fit an Echo)
-KA CQB Compensator/Flash hider
-East German Lower Handguard Retainer Pin
-Romanian Wood Handuard set
-Systema Turbo (short), soldered leads
-Deans connectors, (still stock 8.4, need to get something better...)
-Spring cut to ~280 fps, legal for local cqb use
-Mags all G&P 150rnd midcaps (5)
-Blade Tec kydex AK Mag belt-mounted holsters (3)

Runs avg. 24rnd/sec at ~280 fps. (dont know about you, but where Im from thats slow rof) Ive got to pick up a scope mount, Ive got a side mount I just need to drill holes for the screws in the receiver, and then probably cut the scope mount itself to accommodate the long rear sight. Then it will be truly horrible.

Its not done yet. It still needs one more thing after its fully functional. Im gunna run out an pick up some Yuengling Black & Tan, rip the sticker off one of those bad boys, and stick clear packaging tape over it and slap it onto the top of the stock. And itll just be all like... "Yeungling Black & Tan." and Ill be all like... wuddup. Im badass.

begin... the flaming

Is that an m249 grip?

Non Credo October 3rd, 2008 18:58

yeah. more commonly referred to as a SAW grip, made for the AK, not adapted. IMO, much more comfy than an standard grip.

Schlyder October 3rd, 2008 19:00

I likey, except the BIGASS bolt carrier lever, and vert gip. Other than that it looks good. throw a launcher or shotty underneath instead of the vert grip, and a little smaller lever, and it's winner winner, chicken dinner. LOL.

..Please - Think of the children, your AK is upsetting my AKM and AK-104... they look like they're about to cry.

Just joking mate, it does look like you spent alot of time into that project - I can appreciate a "head to toe" AK project. Looks like a good build and all that - Good Job, mate.

I am really not fond of Rails on AK's - A rail should NEVER touch an AK ever, not even in your wildest dreams...
