Am I only one who gets ticked off at people not knowing the difference between a stupid kid with a Wal-Mart airsoft gun as opposed to the guy's who take it seriously? I spend a lot of time on Militaryphotos.net (love the place). All they do there is bash on airsofters every chance they get. It's not even that. It's that, anyone I speak to about airsoft they give me same speech "Oh, those clear guns you get at wal-mart?" I have to just sigh and walk away cause if I try and explain it to them, they just don't get it :banghead:

I Run a hobby shop thats nothing more than a grown mans toy store. I work on airsoft guns in the shop and the general responce is that people associate airsoft with a clear wallmart toy. I have got a lot of people into airsoft just by them seeing me repairing a gun. once people see a real Aeg they cant believe it. They ask about them and I enjoy educating the public about the real airsoft community and the kids that get dad to buy them a gun at wallmart.

its not just you. there seems to be alot of them out there.

Always and I kind of given up on trying to explain it to someone.

Its Milphotos - the place is half populated with BTDTs who generally don't quite approve of weekend warriors. The other half are wannabes who secretly think airsoft is really cool, but refuse to admit it because its not real steel. :D

Seeing as how people have the misconception of what airsoft is I'm gonna clear it up for you. We're NOT a group of dumb kids who just want to shoot each other at 5ft away. We have rules and regulations, well thought out scenario's, strategy and use of real Military tactics not to mention proper safety wear.

The average person hears airsoft and thinks, "oh those Wal-Mart bb guns?". If you think that, your far off... There a wide variety of airsoft guns and gear beyond that of Wal-Mart. Here are some pictures for those who have never seen something beyond a wal-mart airsoft gun or etc.

You have a bit of a high opinion of your blog. The denizens of this dark corner of the internet are already well aware of what airsoft is and isn't. It's very informative for the average myspacer, but around here its a fact of life.

Very true sir. Over on our forum in South Texas, we get A LOT people who have a misconception of airsoft all together. As a mod over on our foums, I was thinking of putting this as a sticky.

At the current rate it's growing, in another 5 years, airsoft will be better known than PB in the US.

My Military contract is for 6 years. Maybe when I get back, it'll be bigger

I'm a nice guy what can I say? :D. I'm 20 and my recruiter is 25 he despises being called sir.

Military photo . net is full of shit eating know it all bastard. That + armchair general, military wannabe and military dumb ass.

If we where to combine their ego into one, earth would explode under all that bullshit.

I love the place for the pictures, but I don't read the comments, because I get mad all the time. Especially with the Pro american/Israelly bullshit.
