Is Undercharging bad?

I just got my new kraken ak 47. The manual says to charge it for about 12 hours at first, then about 10 hours every other time. I don't really want to wait 12 hours from now, and I'm wonderin if I could just charge it for maybe 2 hours.

1) Will the gun even work after only 2 hours?
2) Is undercharging bad for the gun?

Thanks

All you'll do by undercharging a cheap battery is ruin it. Follow the instructions to the letter when charging. Ni-Cad batteries will develop 'cell memory' if undercharged or recharged when not fully drained and never be able to hold a full charge after that. Ideally, you should totally discharge a Ni-Cad before recharging it. And always fully charge it every time.

And your best bet would be to get rid of the wall wart charger and get yourself a decent battery charger.

Refrain from being impaitent, charge the battery all the way.

Here is what one partial possibility I predict if you choose to be impatient.

- You partially charge the batt and begin messing around with your gun
- Battery gets weak very quickly and the mechbox seizes
-Another useless stupid thread gets posted on here on how to fix your mechbox because you fubar'd it because you couldnt be bothered to wait.

Do us all a favor and just fully charge the battery.

i suggest that you get a new battery and charger

k, Thx for info.
I guess I'll just wait the full 12 hours and then use it, but I'm thinking of getting a new batt. Does anyone know of a decent battery (prefferably less than 50$) for my kraken?

You will find what you require here, affordable and reliable.

The batteries that come with cheap guns are usually shit. That being said, if you charge and discharge them correctly, they should still last you a while.

I would recommend you check out http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com/mai...r=15&model=122. A large 8.4V, 4000 mAh pack with Elite cells will cost you about $45 US plus shipping. It's the best deal you can get. You'll get about 5000 rounds out of that battery without requiring a recharge. It's an Ni-MH battery too, so you don't have to discharge it between charges. And the high capacity, low resistance cells will also increase your rate of fire.

Also, get a decent charger. If you can't afford to get both a charger and battery at once, then get the charger first. A proper charger will help maintain your current battery until you can replace it with a better one.

By undercharging a battery (for example my stock batt with my Kraken) will it have less fps than if I fully charged the batt. I don't mean permanently reducing, for example; if I charge the batt for 12 hours it shoots 370 fps with 0.2s. Rewind time, instead of charging for 12 hours, I do it for 4 hours. My fps...will it go down or stay the same, but batt life won't be as long(obvioulsy)
?

Crunchmeister August 18th, 2008 20:54

The battery has zero effect on your muzzle velocity. The spring is responsible for that. What is likely to happen is that you'll get a few shots off, then as the battery dies, the mechbox will partially cycle with the spring compressed and jam up in that position.

Just do yourself a favour and charge it completely.

Basically, take care of your battery's for the first couple full charges & discharges. (lol dis-charges!) Because if you dont, your battery sucks, and if you do, it does not.

Are you aware that every question you ask can be answered on Google? I'm going to PM you this question as well, because every time someone asks you a tough question in one of your threads, you disappear and don't come back to it.
