After Math Orphus Socom

I'm new to this forum but looking for information on a recent purchase, the Orphus Socom by After Math. With the purchase of the rifle there is very little information given, a schematic would be nice. Being new to air soft products I know very little so any information would be helpful.

I can tell you I'm extremely pleased with the out of the box performance of the Orphus Socom. I found it to be much more accurate that I had imagined it would be. There was no information about the hop up system or how it worked with the original instructions. In contacting the distributor of After Math (Gamo), Florida, USA I was told several pages were removed due to liabilities?? Does anyone have a full 11 page instruction manual on the rifle?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

We don't have any of those, but it should just be a clone of the Tokyo Marui M14. Try looking for Marui documentation, or any company that cloned TM's M14 design (ie. not CA, not G&G).

ColtFarmer...

I pick this one up for $149.95 US at Big 5 Sporting Goods, a local chain I believe. I was amazed they quoted the fps At 500 using .12 g bb's.

Saint...

Thanks for the info, I'll see what I can find. Do you have a url for it?

damn I miss Big 5. I used to live in Albuquerque, bought airguns from them all the time. 1000fps gamo break action for 169, yes please sign me up haha.

Try mechbox.com also, they have a lot of info on there.

Holy shit. I'm grabbing one.

Messy August 1st, 2008 21:48

Wait, can they seriously shoot 500fps with .12 bb?

maybe. but the upward curve is so sharp that it comes back around like a boomerang and hits you. .....haha

which is sad because just before the Orphus came out they told me it was going to be 500fps with .20g BB's.... those lying bastards....

Orphus Socom

I'm a total newbie to air soft and only ended up with the Orphus Socom be cause the guy behind the counter said "Hey Dude", check this out and seemed to know what he was talking about. All I know for sure is that at 30 feet right out of the box shooting either .12g BB's or the .20 BB's it was possible to cut a quarter size holes in a paper plate time and time again. What amazed me even more was at the same distance on full auto it's possible to cut an alumium pop can in 1/2 very easily.

A check with Gamo the distributor in Florida revealed that a number of pages of instruction were deleted from all but the original rifles sold. My guess is it delt with the internal schematic of the rifle. There reason for not providing it was problems with liability but they did say it was avaible to anyone holding a Feferal Firearms Permit. (This sounded rather lame to me as there is very little control over airsoft in the US)

down here on ebay dude....since were both from the states. you can get a G&G socom m14 for roughly 30 bucks more than aftermaths

i would think guay guay would be a better a clone

What Saint said, check out Marui documentation.

And try not to use .12 BB's. They'll wreak your gun. Use .20's at the least, even .25's would be better.
