BB help: 0.2 vs 0.25 vs 0.3
I've got a KWA G18C, and I've been using KSC perfect 0.2g BB's for a while now. I've always thought that you should only use 0.2's with GBB pistols, but I've been hearing different things lately... some people have been using 0.25's while others have been using even 0.3's... So my questions are:
1) Is it worth it to use heavier bb's for the better accuracy? and 2) Is there another brand of bb that perhaps may perform any better than the KSC perfect BB's? (like the BB bastards or TM BB's?) I'm looking towards a different brand because I'm not liking the KSC's very much... Any suggestions? |
1) Yes, yet it also depends on where it is your playing. I use nothing but .25's and am very happy with them.
2) All that you mentioned are good, personally I use KSC perfects and Elites. Try bastard, I've seen good things from them as well. |
I use 0.25s in my pistol and rifle in outdoor games. I highly recommend BB Bastard as they have great BBs for a great price.

I was using .28s in my GBBs and .2s in my AEGs. I'm now using .30 in my GBBs and find I get much better accuracy with them.

Before running out of my beloved bastards 0.25's, I found madbull 0.23's to work well in my pistols for indoor games.

thanks guys, i'm probably gonna try out 0.25 bbs...

.3s if you have adjustable hopup and want some very nice accuracy.
|
.3s fly very true but I think it's overkill (especially for a pistol).

In GBB's the physics are different because it's using compresses gas, not a constant volume of air from a piston.
It's better to use heavy BB's in a GBB. For example, I tried .2's vs .28's in my KJW P229 and the FPS only dropped about 10. |
Hey,
I use KSC .30 in my glock 23f and its amazing, i can shoot a bit further with it and its way more accurate. I never thought that it would make a difference but with the heavier bb i can turn the hop-up up a bit and the weight of the bb keeps the shot nice and straight......give it a try Beach |
for all the people who recommended the 0.3g bb's, just wanted to know, what brand bb's did you guys use?

Just like GBBR's, heavier ammo works better in pistols.
The reason is because it doesn't have a linear energy curve like AEG's where your .3s have the same energy as .20s. A pistol will fire a .3 with more energy than it would a .2, and it's also passing through the hop rubber at a faster velocity, increasing stability (versus an AEG on .3s). Personally I use .25s or .28s depending on the pistol |
