Kraken based AK47

Kraken AK47 with metal body, wood kit and slant flash hider. I also painted alot of the furniture flat black because they were a gross greyish colour. Interals are mostly stock. 6.02mm Tightbore inner barrel and I have a new loading nozzle I have yet to get installed. Gun porn to follow:

Nice work man, nice work. Good detail and it just looks great all around. Now its time to get it battle tested! Perhaps this weekend?

MickeyWang June 11th, 2008 17:47

I will be bringing it along to Savage Lands this weekend, but I hope to be using my M4. The M4 likes to break down just about every time I bring it out, so thats why I picked up the AK. It's full metal and wood and it still cost me less than a TM AK47! Cheers to chinese cloners.:)

gun looks nice, good job

Crunchmeister June 11th, 2008 18:56

A well upgraded Chinese clone will ass-rape any stock TM and still cost less. That's a win-win situation IMO.

Styrak June 11th, 2008 19:08

Nice gun! Kept it clean and looking like a classic AK should.

see what can be accomplished with a Kraken and some work? Awesome.

Are those wood furnishings real wood?

JoeyJackhammer July 8th, 2008 00:31

yes, purchased through Huang

Dusti69 July 8th, 2008 17:57

are those akm flash hiders sposed to be cocked at an angle like that?
i screwed mine on and it was all crooked like that and it messed with my mind so i unscrewed it a little and flattened a wire to make it sorta like a washer so that the flash hider would firmly stay straight and level

Styrak July 8th, 2008 18:08

Yes the flashhider is supposed to be off-center.

Dusti69 July 8th, 2008 18:14

but you can clearly see in his pictures where the groove for the flash hider lock is supposed to slide into from out of the front sight. if i had one of those in my front sight it would lock the akm flash hider level i believe

and ok. on a real steel ak, what is the purpose of the akm being cocked at an angle like that?

Styrak July 8th, 2008 18:22

Your rifle rises up and away from you. If the flashhder points up and to the away from you with the open part, it reduces muzzle climb.

JoeyJackhammer July 8th, 2008 18:23

it's off to keep flash out of sightline and to counteract the AK's bolt that is slightly off-center, to the right. Ak's action is fairly violent compared to today's new weapons.

neat info guys, thanks
