Systema Flash Hider Removal! In great need of help!

So somehow I broke off the plastic Flashhider from the systema Gun. I am now left with the brass cylinder.

I tried heating it from the beginning and my best to take it off but the flashhider just broke off.

I am now stuck with the brass on there and I dont know what to do.

Please hlp!

errr. DUDE! wtf?

Where did your threads go?

mcguyver March 19th, 2008 20:42

The threads are underneath the brass ring.

I take it you've tried pliers with no success? Best would be a set of 6" or 8" Channel Locks.

dodger_me March 19th, 2008 20:43

lol... were you turning it the right way? :P that sucks,if it cracked your threads off chance are your looking a whole new front end.... 240 bucks

Not very likely. Just turn counter clockwise to remove the brass ring.

Im so fuckin pissed off. Now I need to go buy something! freakin hell! Thanks mC I will try to go get some channel locks.

stokes March 19th, 2008 20:50

Im so pissed off I put away the gun.

mcguyver March 19th, 2008 20:51

Get the adjustable ones, not just basic slip-jointed pliers.

You know, I could get that off for you in about 10 seconds. But you're way out east. Sorry to rub that in.

Go buy something. You'll feel better.

stokes March 19th, 2008 20:54

LOl Brad! I need you here lol!... Alright I will head to CT tomorrow and search for adjustable channel locks!

Yep.

I had the same problem with the brass ring. I found my solution on the PTW forums. I heated the ring up using a blow touch and then it came off with vice grips.
