Well Love Hina was made in 2000 and I'm pretty airsoft tanks were in the year 2000.

The Japanese have had a thing for military models for decades, perhaps longer, as well they are very high tech and into many R/C items. I wouldn't be surprised if that is just an offshoot of that and not the airsoft tanks specifically.

There are actually airsoft tanks. Friend of mine has a couple. But it can only fire when its moving.

Thats the point of this thread, as stated in the beginning, airsoft tanks where released (according to WMK, I have no idea personally) in 2000.
