JG BAR-10

I sniped for the first time this weekend and enjoyed some aspects of it. I thought I could purchase the BAR-10 and mod its airbrake, that way it shoots 500FPS on stock parts. My question is, how big of an affect does barrel length have on sniping? This may sound a little nooby but seriously. Is 430mm TBB enough or should I be looking at a much longer barrel, 555mm? Would I need a different cylinder for a 555mm barrel?

Post #1 part 1 should answer your question.

Nope, didn't get it. I understand the relations of barrel length and cylinder sizes for AEGs but I'm curious about bolt action springers. The BAR-10 is a 100% VSR-10 clone. Will the stock vsr10 cylinder support a 555mm TBB?

thanks for the help. That was a good review, but he didn't explain why I would NEED to use a different cylinder than the stock one. All I want to know is if the VSR10 cylinder holds a greater volume of air than a type 0 AEG cylinder. If thats the case than I believe a 555mm TBB would be fine. I'll start asking on that thread though.

thanks

You should be fine with the 555 barrel... I just got a 700mm barrel for my APS2... I wonder if it's even gonna work...

i have one on the way to my house hehe, cant wait to see it

I'm sorry to hear about the price hike. If there wasnt the import issue Canada would be forced to compete with International prices. It should still be cheaper then a VSR-10 though.
