Airsoft seizures/raids in BC - Act 1 Scene 2

Yes, BC stores were raided over here in BC. That is confirmed. Weirdly enough, not ALL of the BC stores were raided, just some of them.

What is also confirmed is a player/collector's HOUSE was hit just today. A good friend of mine came home from university classes today to find, among other personal items that were seized, his airsoft gun collection GONE, and his computer GONE. A family member was home to fill him in on the grisly details.
He is, understandably, quite distraught over this matter and I have not been able to reach him after he hurriedly phoned me to tell me about what happened.

What I want to know is; has this happened to anyone else?
And can anyone see why this is happenning?

This is getting quite ridiculous

ATREYU September 16th, 2006 02:47

Perhaps he had drawn attention to himself due to other issues. Taking the computer is not neccessarily indictive of anything related. They may have been doing an investigation of another sort, and in the course of that investigation, seen the guns on the premisis, and taken them in the interests of public safety. There are not enough details here to offer much more than a partially educated guess.

He is not the only one to have had guns taken away
all parties who have been hit were all connected to a retailer in some way or another

sukivan September 16th, 2006 02:50

probably knee-jerk reaction to the montreal incident
I'm certainly curious about what the hell is going on

what stores were raided?

I'm going to take guess would it be those of the gunsmithes that upgrades/tune up for the retail stores?

Shinjin_MC September 16th, 2006 02:57

no, not in this case
but without going into detail, gunsmiths have been affected as well

Yuu September 16th, 2006 03:00

This could mean something else? Not sure what is going on here but this pose a very frightening situation.

Shinjin_MC September 16th, 2006 03:06

Ive got no idea what the heck is going on either
all my friend could really ask is : "why me?"

I just want help answering his question; I couldnt give an answer

Pip September 16th, 2006 03:08

Surely there would have been something in the News about this....i don't want to turn this thread into the other one about the raids, but seriously, if there was something going down they would have reported it....isolated incidents? or is this an iceberg that we are only seeing the tip of?

Yuu September 16th, 2006 03:10

Not until they decide whether to release it to the media and to public attention?

what a shitty country we live in

Shinjin_MC September 16th, 2006 03:14

why would you see something in the news?
you dont see every purse snatching incident, every car accident or every house burglary showing up
the papers would be half a foot thick

besides, it hasnt affected a wide range of people at the moment
