Out of the stuff that Seals Action Gear offers I wasn't sure what would go well with CADPAT, heres what they offer:

I was thinking this one perhaps:

I'll point this out for the sake of being anal and nickpicking, cuz I dunno how accurate an impression you're trying to pull:

A MICH/ACH (also available in repro) will put you much closer to the CF helmet than the PASGT. I'd also recommend leaving the MICH pads inside instead of going for the accurate suspension straps, since the pads are crazy comfortable even on repros (its like a bike helmet and you all but forget you're wearing it).

The only MICH helmet supplied by Seals Action Gear is an actual ballistics helmet for $539.00, do you know anywere near (or in) Calgary, AB that would sell a replica MICH helmet?

In the B&S Gear section, Groombug just sold one and Spleen had one for sale which may still be up for grabs. If not there are some on eBay as well which appear to be the same ones (like this one).

Flecktarn.co.uk sells some as well as other HK retailers. Might wanna check the Canadian retailers, too. Dunno if they have any offhand.

skip the balaclava

it is made of fleece and it gets way too hot unless you play in really, really cold weather. it will also trap hot air and cause your goggles to fog up

i got one (same one, from seals too) - thats what happened with mine anyways

also, i dont really like the cadpat bdus from seals - the colors on mine faded really easily (after about 2-3 washes). i grabbed a top from wheelers and it still looks brand new (after about a dozen washes)

oh, and make sure you break in those boots before you get to a game

Contact Army Issue for your Cadpat combat uniform. He'll hook you up.

Not another one of these threads ... can't wait till the "I'm getting an M4 in a couple years and need to know what upgrades and accessories I should buy" ... enter another thread with a huge list.

I guess on the bright side he did post some nice colorful photos ... the downside being the photos mainly consist of items printed in CadPat.

There is no airsoft uniform. Look at photos and when you see a kit that catches your eye, buy what closely matches.

Something else you may want to add for the sake of completeness (and comfort, since sometimes a helmet is just too warm / bulky / annoying) since it's relatively cheap, is a boonie.

As for the BDUs, if you have 'em check out your local surpluses and/or CADC outlet; despite all the BS going around about "real CadPat" the fact of the matter is the government does in fact surplus Gen.1 CadPat, and while they're usually faded or damaged, sometimes it's minor (like a missing button, or an ink or grease stain). Shirts anyway, you can find shirts that are useable. Pants are usually in pretty sorry shape.

edit, in reponse to FF's post - oh dang, just saw his age.

Im actualy involved in the Air Cadet orginization, and I can buy CIC (Cadet Instructional Cadrae, or something like that) through the military, the real deal stuff made by "Logistik Unicorp", but if I were to only order one pair the prices sky rocket. The military likes to buy in bulk, so the suppliers like to sell in bulk...

Off hand I think the prices for the real stuff (buying individualy) are around:

Combat Pants - $95
Combat Shirts - $85
Boonie (Tilly Hats) - $50
ect...

the stuff from Seals is alot cheaper, and im not to worried about a little fading, if they fad alot, I may buy the real stuff...

Plus, I already... "Skillfully Aquired" (as the reserve units in our area put it) a real CADPAT boonie...

I know a place that has real ballistic helmets for $350, brand new top of the line :D

oh and lots of Cadpat in stock as well :D

Cortex September 1st, 2006 20:34

Also, what the big diff between the MICH helmets and the USGI PASGT helmets? They look really close to the same from the outside...

made Man September 1st, 2006 22:17

Chinstrap for one is different on CF helmets. And i fucking hated that chinstrap.

Lerch September 1st, 2006 23:20

Chinstrap, weight, suspension. Plus the PASGT has a brim while the MICH doesn't.

Doesn't Gallet (company that made our helmets) make the MICH?
