Useless TM1911 gossip

Link.

Not worth reading, move along.

That looks like a CG image. Besides, that's what a real frame looks like.

PoFF April 26th, 2006 15:01

Yep, this thing's a real steel frame (or at least, and exact reproduction)

Edit : Well, Maybe not after all, I don't see any slide rails on the frame

Assuming the CG is an accurate representation of the production.

Real frame, note the rear lower half, the part that locks on to the slide is prominent to say the least.

KJW Para, note how from that angle you can see the slide rails of the lower frame. Compare this with the CG image.

Now, compare with Glock AEP's lower frame design.

The similarity is most pronounced between the Beretta AEP and the above CG, but I can't find a good clear picture of the Beretta AEP to demonstrate what I mean.

I see what you mean, the tails on the Para and Hi-Capa are considerably longer and I was looking at them first and foremost. Although, the tab above of the right slide stop hole is missing in the CG, but that's not really anything conclusive. You're right, wait and see.

Someone ran the text through a translator, it is a GBB. Guess I should've done that first, damn cancer guns. Still, I wouldn't have minded an AEP M1911, as silly as automatic fire from that thing would have been.

In addition to looking at the Para and Hi-Capa instead of M1911 pictures, I was also looking at real steel M1911 instead of GBB diagrams. Take about one mistake after another. Won't do that again. :smack:

Awesome news! We can only hope that the lower frame is metal. It's pretty safe to say that this release will be as kickass as the hicapas/sig226.
Here is a link to Arnies..looks promising :-D

That lower frame rail is tiny because the substantial portion of it will be on the metal inner components of the gun.

My bet is GBB, because

A) the 1911 is a narrow gun. AEP internals would be a bitch.

B) putting AEP internals into a gun that will be shooting semi only is a waste of auto-capable parts.

C) Crazy as the Japanese are [<--to be taken lightly], I get the impression they tend to want realism out of their replicas, at least while they're stock...

If KJ will be too slow to release their new version of 1911 my wallet will cry after upgrading TM pistol to full metal :(

Supposedly the KJ version is out. If memory serves me correctly someone here on ASC has one. Grim wasn't able to order them due to some problem at the factory I think.

Shinjin_MC April 26th, 2006 19:43

yes, it is a GBB
the bottom bit reads: gas blowback colt government

big characters more or less reads:
ultimate government goal/aim. Marui's new challenge

I think..I can't really read kanji so I might be wrong..

No the KJ isn't out yet. They released a version a long time ago, then recalled them back because of some problems. They are now remaking the model to fix those errors, however they've been doing that for several months now and no ETA on when they'll be finished and ready to re-release the 1911.
