G&G Sig 550 w/ 11.1 titan
Well, after dusting off the guns after a 10 year break from playing, most of my stick batteries are garbage. I recently picked up a G&G 550. Not wanting to deal with NiMh anymore, I decided to order an 11.1v titan stick to try out. Does anyone know how much work I am setting myself up for? I can't find alot of info on the internals, or how it compares to other V3 G&G guns. It will mostly be used in semi auto, may become a DMR eventually.
Obviously more voltage will wear everything out quicker in the long run, but I'm wondering what the weak points are if anyone knows. |
The Sig 550 is the proline, so they are built pretty well. Mine came with a Neo magnet motor - if it comes with a standard G&G motor, that will probably be the first failure point. The first thing that bit the bullet was the piston head, it ended up having a ton of small hairline cracks through it, if I hadn't caught it it probably would have exploded, and ended up doing some serious damage to the gearbox.

That's good to know. Do you know if the gearbox shell is the revised version that doesn't crack at the front? I know this was an issue for some G&G. I haven't had a chance to pull it apart and look yet.

V3's don't really crack like V2's.
