Freakin' spammers on airsoft forums.......... AKA: Beware!!!

Just went to the Airsoft Retreat's Snipers Perch to check up on things (am a regular there) and the entire section (if not the entire forum) got spammed by a user called Brad Pitt Is So Cute. This is a nasty spam, posts a pic of a threesome with old guys, hit every thread in the past few days with it. Check out the example, am still shaking my head with that one. Not sure if this idiot will hit all the airsoft forums around, but watch out for him just in case.

Cant the admin trace the IP and ban the IP? Also can the admin warn other forum admins about that specific IP so they can ban him before he joins?

8-O
Why would you post this?...
You know that if you post it... we will click it...

We will click it... then we will scroll down...

Regarding the IP,
They likely have a dynamic IP, one that changes... Google it for more info.
Kind of hard to stop if that is the case... by the way, damn whoever didn't make the IP addresses with enough numbers to give everyone their own!

Bob the Angry Potato November 20th, 2005 12:26

Yeah, I noticed that earlier. He's not the only one who did it, some other guy called "Ilikemolestingchildren", or something like that, put others on every other board. I'm surprised an admin hasn't found it yet... it's probably just a disgruntled 12-year-old who got banned.

CDN_Stalker November 20th, 2005 12:33

Posted it for the admin to know, maybe contact the admin down there, possibly get the IP address and do a "pre-emptive ban". Ya, ok, I might have gone a bit far with providing a link to a thread, but hey, it backs up my story, right? At least I outlined it and didn't just say "Check THIS out!" and left it at that. Hehe, imagine the uproar if I didn't say what the actual pic was!!! I thought after I could have put a Not Work Safe warning on it, but at least I said what the pic was, so every one of us (including me) chairsofter idiots (yup, season over, when all the players become chairsofters) would have a heads up.

What if it is a static IP?

Actually it probably isn't he probably wouldn't have done it if it wasn't dynamic.

Kid November 20th, 2005 14:43

It likely isn't a static IP as they can cost from $20 to $150 extra per IP each month, crazy, but it's true.

Err that depends, my ISP here in Toronto is Rogers, just your regular local cable internet provider, and their gives me a static IP... Ive had this one for some time, doesnt matter if you shut off your modem for a week. Though aparently they switch them once in a while, i cant say it has happened to me yet...
