Well if you're just transporting handguns there's some 'aluminum' (Just looks like aluminum, there's cardboard underneath it) at your local Walmart/Zellers store. They sell them as tool cases. I got a nice set of two (one large, one attaché-sized small) for about $30.

Hi there
ever thought of getting a pelican case??? Water proof dust proof etc... lifetime warranty, 3 different size and very sexy. We carry all the pelican case at my job so if you need more info just give a call 1-877-938-4264 and ask for Mathieu
cheers!!

I believe that SIR here carries pelican cases, and they run in the $300+ range and are like safes with handles...
I also have a case like MuffinMan described, only mine is plastic with a brushed aluminum finish as opposed to carboard. I got mine at Canadian tire for about $30.
There's a really old thread on here that gets comments added to it every once in a while about cases like you're referring to.

Why would they ship to canada? There's a bass pro in vaughan. Actually, I bought this gun case from them almost a year ago and it's great.

I'v done a bit of browsing around and have seen some people selling them in the 150 dollar range, but I'v heard from some people that there a cheaper chinese made ones that run around the 50-70 dollar range. Anyone know what I'm talking about and where I would go to find one? I'v been to a few hunting stores, but supprisingly enough, most of them only carry plastic cases, and the Aluminum ones are way up in the $300's.

Any help would be appreciated.

That's one of my wholesale listers. Be aware, most want a valid importer's license (rather, a number - have it), and be a verified member (starts at 400 USD if I remember correctly - not yet, as soon as I hit the 10K mark in net income). Most choose UPS as they're default shipping (as UPS covers brokerage if from China). You're still left paying taxes of your province (not just GST).

Not considering the hassles, you're not saving that much by buying overseas, rightfully so why they choose to do business with business owners generally (that's the "vibe" I get from most of the wholesalers). Not to mention, unlike retail, they won't hold your hand to guide you through the steps of importing. There's a reason I haven't had much sleep lately...

ya i must say, last time i went to Bass Pro shop, i saw some aluminum cases for rifles with rolling wheels and locks for about 150 or so.

Bass Pro shop at Vaughn has a nice variety.

place in grande prairie called barton's. they are hunting and fishing retailer and they have 2 models of those. one is thin and would hold 2 guns. the other is thicker and will hold 2 large guns. price on small was 69 and price on large was 89 i think. aluminum with combo locks and adjustable straps (4). much nicer than the plastic crappola.
