But hey if it works it works and that is what matters!

Considering they're real GoPro mounts, not that ghetto. Call me when you have one made out of bailing wire and duct tape.

Just wondering, what would be a good DIY helmet counterweight? I don't have $40 to throw at a counterweight bag. Any ideas would be great :)

SawBone April 1st, 2016 07:10

Uncooked rice or sand in a ziplock bag + duct tape :)

Kingsix April 1st, 2016 07:29

Alice pistol/ Compass pouch with lead fishing sinkers.

EOD Steve April 1st, 2016 07:56

Steel chains at home depot.

Hectic April 1st, 2016 10:14

Beanbag/sandbag/rice bag etc...
Just about anything really. A few old nicad batteries even lol

The only way to be sure your counterweight will create a perfect balance with your NOD, is to buy a second identical NOD and arm to be mounted to the back of your helmet.

I second this, and at least when you turn around, you'll have NV for your back too! Best practice

Lead shot in a bag in a pouch attached to your helmet.
I once used spare lug nuts from a half ton truck because I forgot my counterweight at home.

I understand what materials can be used for the weight but what would i do to attach ot to my helmet?
