366+ fps Tpkyo Marui pistols

I just saw at my local (Montréal) airsoft store new TM pistols modified for the canadian market :) Has anybody has more info on this ?

lurkingknight June 3rd, 2015 21:15

you either buy or you don't buy. That's all there is to it.

ThunderCactus June 3rd, 2015 21:16

I don't think they're 366+fps, they're just marked 366+

pestobanana June 3rd, 2015 21:22

Depends. You'll have to see the boxes. There are ways to import pistols at above 366 FPS and then convert them back once they land in country.

MultipleParadox June 3rd, 2015 22:33

Which store are you referring too exactly?
Canarmo has been selling TM for quite a while, now torontoairsoft as well. Whose the one in Mtl?

Enthusiast June 3rd, 2015 22:36

I refer to airsoftQC,

I don't they would take the risk of selling gun only marked on the box 366, because they have been raided by CSBA recently.

GR June 3rd, 2015 22:42

Hate to be that guy, but remember the rules: no store links for guns outside AV section...

MultipleParadox June 3rd, 2015 23:19

^ what he said

And if you're looking for a TM pistol, you might want to stick with Canarmo then
Unless you go in the other store and they actually have it IN stock then ok I guess it's fine

They love to list items they don't stock or that they aren't sure how long it'll take to receive them. Some waited a loong time before getting their hands on what they paid for, just saying

As far as i recall its prety hard to get a tm to shoot 366+ without a bunch of parts. The 1 "easy" way to do it would be a long inner and propane, but propane will put alot of stress on stock internals. Dont gete wrong alot of tm pistols have survived quite some time on propane but the slides and sometimes nozzels will crack. If you really want a tm pistol just trust who you know has stock. How they get them isnt really your problem. Plus im pretty sure with a BFL they could import em regardless of FPS but I could be wrong about that.

You are wrong about that.

Methods I've seen with retailers over my course of time.

1) They buy from one or two sources who mass wholesales in Canada imports pistols like (WE).

2) They arrange with retailers across seas (ex RWA) to add a "longer inner barrel" to the pistol, thus resulting in higher FPS (As Pesto stated).

3) I see smaller companies importing stuff with boxes simply marked as "OVER 366" and take the chance they don't get booked.

4) "Sneak" in large crates of orders, i.e. you got a whole container of goods, but you can "hide" some stuff that wouldn't normally make it through, i.e. receiver sets.

Anyways, OT. Lots of retailers in Canada started to carry TM products, shop around. If you find a local store, go in and test feel them all!

Good luck.

RCMP website says it. Could be dated and or CBSA may have a different set of rules i guess.
We all know that if it shoots under 366 its classed as a replica, plus see below.
From rcmp site:
Possessing or Acquiring Replica Firearms

Individuals may keep any replicas that they owned on December 1, 1998. A licence is not required to possess a replica firearm, and it does not have to be registered. However, individuals cannot acquire, make or import a replica firearm. If a replica firearm is taken out of Canada, it cannot be brought back in. Businesses may possess, acquire or import replica firearms only if they have a valid Firearms Business Licence that allows them to possess prohibited devices for an approved purpose.

Yes but they can't sell to the general public if they import with a BFL. It's for this reason that 007 Airsoft has (or perhaps used to, not sure what the current site is like) marked "Not for Civilian". There were a bunch of companies doing this years ago and they got taken down. I believe the threads still exist somewhere on ASC.

While we're on the subject, licences from other countries also don't give you the right to ship into Canada :P

007 doesn't do anything dodgy or misleading. They import their pistols with CO2 mags which keep them in the legal velocity range. You'll just want to buy propane mags to go with them for CQB use.
