Hiro's BTC Spectre Build

BTC Spectre
ZCI High Torque Motor
16:1 gears
M120
SHS Blue Piston

Piston and gears short stroked 3 teeth

358 fps with .20 g bb's
~22 rps

With 7.4V lipo: BTC Spectre + ZCI High Torque - YouTube

With 11.1V Lipo (battery was diying...): BTC Spectre Fet + ZCI High Torque + 11.1 Lipo - YouTube

What you guys think?
Also i'm waiting on some 13:1 gears..
And also a speed airsoft trigger, just to make the trigger pull even shorter eheh

Dynamo April 5th, 2014 19:36

It can be difficult to find one lol allways out of stock..
I manage to get this one directly from btc-airsoft.
I think they are in stock here http://www.modmyairsoft.com/BTC-Spectre-FET-V2-Gearbox

Thanks ;)
It's really a great mosfet, IMO it's the best micro switch trigger mosfet in the market.. way better then the ASCU..

Looks like you could work on efficiency and air seal, fps and rof seem awfully low

Air seal i tested it and it was fine.. Remenber i'm running a M120 SHS but with less 3 teeth.. the variacion in fps was only 3.. i don't think i got a problem there.. but i'll check it next time i work on it..

About the rof, it's a little slow, true.. but i'm running a 22TPA motor, not the fastest thing out there.. But i believe the 13:1 SHS gears will make an improvement there aswell

phloudernow April 6th, 2014 15:27

I run the Chimera MKII basically same as the Spectre just chunkier, anywho i run 16:1 Gears with a Lonex A1 Motor, m120 and a lonex Red Piston :)

Gun runs awesome, tbh i know tons of people who have been running Spectres and Chimera's for the longest time. Nothing really new here but yes those are great.

and + 1 on low FPS, you should be running at least close to 400 FPS on .2s with an m120 from what i know.

I know, and i was getting around 415 fps before i stroked the piston and gears by 3 teeth..
If you know about short stroking you know it has the intend of lowering the fps and making the cycle shorter therefor faster trigger response..
Also i have a ported cylinder and sorbo on my cylinder head.. i need to work on the air ratio cylinder/barrel..

Do you know how many amps your setup is drawing and whether your battery can reliably supply the setup?

And why does your receiver look so greasy.

What do you mean by greasy? lol
It's just worn.. lol

Regarding the first question, i don't have a multimeter to know that precise information, but, using Hunterseeker Calculator it estimates an optimal current (A) of around 12 Amps (?). I'm using a 11.1V lipo 20C 1000mAh.
Maybe you understand it better than i do lol
All this electrical part i'm a noob..

Hiro_pt April 6th, 2014 19:10

Also i'm gonna be changing for a 11.1V 1200mAh 20C lipo, this 1000mAh was just the one i had atm.. But i've used it in one morning and it still had plenty battery left.. and i shot quite a bit.. It's a very efficient build..

I have a setup running a m100 with 3 teeth short stroked. With a tightbore it shoots 355 fps and 340 with the stock barrel. That's why I think your fps is rather low.

Are you sure it is a m100?
Prior to have the btc spectre, i had a m100 with no short stroke teeth and i was getting ~370fps..

But i'll check my compression next time i open it..
But yeah, comparing to that it's strange..
But i also have sorbo on the cylinder head, i may not getting enough air out..i have to change to a type A cylinder, or use shims on the piston head rather than the sorbo pad..
But that's what i'm gonna work next, getting the cylinder/barrel ratio ok and then finally installing the R-hop lol
I have the R-hop patches sitting here for over 4 months and haven't got around to installed them :-P

Hiro_pt April 6th, 2014 19:26

But my fps goal is also 350fps so i can play outdoor and cqb, so i will be taking one more tooth..but on the 13:1 that will arrive, hopefully, soon lol
