Pistol Selection - P226 - Tokyo Marui vs KSC

Going to get a GBBP P226, and looking for some input between manufactures.

The place I am looking to buy from has P226 made by either Tokyo Marui or KSC. The price is near identical (Tokyo Marui is $270, the KSC $300).

Which would be the better shooting gun?
Which the more reliable?
Which the more available parts?

Thanks

KSC more valuable then TM?

Lol wat.

TM is known for its reliability and for aftermarket parts.

Get a TM, no contest. I own a spring TM that outperform a lot of my GBBs on accuracy and shoot almost as hard.
You'll get the best internals on the market.

For collector, the KSC is a winner as it is a more accurate replica. You can see the differences after you dissemble it.

Or be gangster as fuck and buy both. Compare, and either hawk the less effective one or not; then you'd have two pretty pieces. My methods are pricey though, so in your case I would say TM.

Thanks for all the feedback, went with the Tokyo Marui P226.

Does anyone know if there is a speedloader available?

Also, would importing a magazine from the states, or Asia be an issue?

Importing magazines, inner barrels, parts are fine. Lower receivers you may have issues.

Marui is always a good choice.

If you're good with insides a Guarder Piston cup and the purple hop bucking( man I can't remember who makes it but it fits vsr 10 and many marui pistols..someone help) will give you a little more pep and consistency.

if you dont like fiddling( which is fun and not that hard)
just DO NOT goop oil or grease all over and you'll still have yourself a fine pistol.

what kind of speedloader do you mean? depending on where you buy your mags you can get some good ones cheap or cheap ones expensive

enjoy

Looking for a speedloader specifically for the TM P226 Mag. The only way I know now to load a mag is by pulling back the spring and loading each BB which is a huge PITA.

Yup it is a chore.
The new one piece version marui 226 mags have the loading slot cut a little lower so you don't have to pull the spring all the was back, but generally al loaders are the same design and you'll just have to learn to hold that nib with your fingernail and slowly blip..blip..blip the bb's in with the speedloader

Of course, had you purchased the kwa then you could lock the nib down out of your way.

What are peoples thoughts on changing the stock inner barrel to a PDI 6.01?

Worthwhile upgrade?

K3vX December 16th, 2013 14:07

I'm too late for the parade, but I would say the KSC is a solid pistol. TM, of course, is TM, which means there are a lot of aftermarket parts available. If I were to keep the pistol stock, I'd grab a KWA one (same system than KSC), and if I wanted to screw with the looks, add a full metal kit, "upgrades", I'd get the TM.

That's how most people do it, and you can ensure proper stacking that way. Any time I've tried to use a speedloader to force BB's in, it ends poorly. It can also put a lot of stress on the feed lips. Sometimes I drop them in one at a time from the bottom after pulling back the spring, so you don't have to handle the BB's but you have to be careful to stack them properly in any case.

NO! Don't touch anything! TM's are insanely accurate and reliable to begin with. Don't mess with it.

Anyone able to tell me what these are for? They came with the pistol.
