Raven Cylinder set for CA M24?
 

Anyone have any experience with this cylinder set?
Looking for something better then the stock set that will last but not 100% sure on this brand.
I am a casual player so not sure I want/need to spend the money on a PDI cylinder set.

Anyone?

Raven is PDI.

It's their "lower end" brand. Cheaper, all plastic piston. Aluminum cylinder (vs. steel). The piston and head has an integral airbrake and the piston is VC type.

Overall it's good for the price for sub-450 rifles (there is no point in going higher anyways...)

I think I know the answer but this is still a large step up from the stock parts?
For someone who may shoot a couple thousand shots a year will this hold up over time?

I don't plan on shooting past 450fps anyway. Heck, I am probably going to keep it at 400fps.

EDIT: The cylinder is steel, not aluminum.

You will have to swap the piston eventually. But then you can buy any PDI ones (either BaRiKaRu (nylon/delrin) or VC (aluminium and steel).

If you don't want to change the trigger block, the Raven is a better choice. VC pistons will eat at the sear as the catch is steel and the stock sears are pot metal...

The cylinder is made from STKM 13C which is seamless STEEL pipe. The Steel they use for their PDI branded versions might be a stronger steel.

Metal/alum mix well with plastics. Metal on metal have more wear.

Look are RC cars and helis, the pinion is metal, while the the spur is plastic and it seems to last a long time.

If it is metal on metal you need lube and hardened surfaces.
