Magpul Masada AKM - Spring
 

Hey everyone...

I just received my new rifle in the mail and inside the box it has an AMP140 spring.

Do any of you out there know if a stock Magpul Masada AKM is able to use this?
Will it damage the rifle using this spring. It is billed as a free upgrade. My worry is that the free upgrade will cause me to have to purchase a pile of fixes.

i would not recommend it. Alot of people have broken/cracked their gearboxes because the spring they were using was too strong or because some other part failed. This guy had an axle break off one of his gears and it basically ate up his piston and his gearbox shell cracked. I believe his channel was 321airsoft on youtube.

my team mate scavenger's ACR gearbox (same as the AKM version) front cracked on a M120 spring. he has yet to game the damn gun. ARES makes guns no other manufacture makes, but their gearbox and internals are probably the worst out there. i had to JB weld the crap out of the gearbox, and i have yet to test it. i still think the JB weld is stronger than the gearbox shell, so there's hope he might be able to game it this season.

WOW that is really too bad. I will stick with the stock config this season I guess and save myself some headache.

Don't try to change it. It's a beautiful airsoft gun and 330 fps is enough to play indoor or outdoor.

we also sold Magpul MASDA AKM and im also using one on the field, the M140 spring is installed only for importation and the internal of the AKM is not built to support it I would highly recommend you to change it for the stock spring that still chrono a 389fps on our bigdragon chrono, the Masada AKM is also equiped with a quick change spring, so you can change it in less then 2min.
