Help Needed! ACM Eotech and Mangnifier
 

I have an ACM Eotech 557 and an ACM 3x Magnifier. the problem is that I can't get the reticule to sit in the middle when looking through the magnifier.

I am able to turn on of the screws so that it adjusts left and right, but I can't find anything that will let me adjust up and down. I got the reticule at the bottom middle.

I'm guessing that there must be a way to adjust this as it wouldn't make sense to have only one axis of adjustment. It also looks like the magnifier is slanted upward toward the front and there are springs located in the mount. This leads me to believe that there's someway to do this but for the life of me I can't figure it out.

Any help would me MUCH appreciated. Here are some pics for reference.


This pic shows that the magnifier sits at an angle. If you look at the right, you can kind of make out springs. There is also a metal post on the left. It almost looks like this is what is raising the magnifier at an angle, but I took the screw out below it and nothing gives.

The screw on the right adjusts the magnifier to the left/right.

On the right is the screw that seems to do nothing. I thought it somehow held up the metal post.

Looking from the user end of magnifier. The screw on the left seems to push the metal peg to adjust the left/right.

From the look of the first pic the magnifier is sitting too high. See if you can switch the qd to the other side.

I'll give that a try, but I would prefer to have the magnifier flip to the right since on the left, it would obscure my FoV.

I found this video on youtube. This is the same one that I have. At 1:25, he talks about the different adjustments, but I can't seem to figure out which one is with the "four little springs" to control the pitch/yaw.

Hey, so I have the same magnifier as you only diff. is that mine is setup the other direction, Your right hand adjustment screw (flat head) is your left/right adjustment. The screw on the left does an up/down adjustment, if you look on the other side of the mount you will see the adjusting screw, but from the looks of you magnifier it is adjusted very high right now. I hope thats what your asking

Yup, that's exactly what I'm asking. Thanks! It doesn't seem like that screw does anything - could you take a pic and point out the right screw?

Oh wait. Do you mean the screws on the opposite side at the back?

Yep, same looking screw but other side, one side does left/right, other end does up/down

in terms of the magnifier, don't expect too much, i had a the ACM Set as well never really worked out for me cuz it wouldn't stay still gave up figuring out what the issue was, never really went back to it lol

I had the exact same problem with my magnifier angled up a bit too high, I actually have an identical set up as you. A simple fix, that metal riser piece that sits in the front, take that out and it will solve your problem. I put a very thin piece of rubber (or you can use electrical tape or the soft side of velcro) to act as a bit of a shim so it sits nicely. Just make sure you tighten the QD mount to the flip to side mount so that way it sits nice and secure. If you're not sure what I'm talking about let me know and I'll post up some pictures of what I did when I get home tonight.

Another thing to note as well is I wouldn't recommend zeroing it with the magnifier up, with mine it has a bit of play to the left and right so I would have to sometimes just tweak it a bit so the red dot visually looks centred. Then again, I'm not intending to use my magnifier to take precise shots, its more or less to track and ID targets at a bit of a longer range. A rail mounted spotting scope more or less...

The eye relief is horrible, but I'm not expecting much as it's just a magnifier. What didn't "stay" for you? Do you mean that it wobbled while mounted? Mine does that a bit too.

I'm more concerned about just getting it centered. It looks like there's tons of little mechanical things on it that adjust it to different angles, but I just can't figure out how it works. I really wish there was an instruction manual.

It wobbles for me, I got mine second hand so no instruction manual. I tried looking up a manual online but no luck, most of the ones I've seen online are a different setup or I'm just not looking hard enough.

Would it be possible if you could post some pictures for me to reference? How did you take the metal riser piece out? I've taken out the really long screw but that piece seems to stay fixed. I think your solution is the best one as it seems that my magnifier is angled way to high at the front.

Mind you a lense looking through a lense makes that dot friggin massive but you kind of get the idea...When I aim down the sight its centred for me.

PS: Where did you get those lense covers? I could use those....
