No, those arn't safe for Airsoft. Good to complete a look for out of action pictures though...but they arn't ballistic so won't be suitable for in game use.

Suspect187 June 18th, 2005 13:04

agreed. I have one of those. Great goggles but not game safe

Theres ballistic insert lenses you can get for the SWD Goggles.

royal marine June 18th, 2005 16:03

would you know where?

Yeoman June 18th, 2005 16:52

the cf gets issued them.
I'm almost positive that all actual issue ones (ie not bought in the PX or canex, or surplus store) are ballistics level.

Still.... most fields will not let you use them.

They demand Paintball approved goggles only.

royal marine June 18th, 2005 17:37

they are real issue surplus. but i wont take a chance with the eyes. ill get some ballistic approved. i have some jt's for a paint field. just want a small pair for other airsoft fields
cheers

If the lense you have for the SWD goggles say ballistic on the top, than your good, but if they don't a BB will go right through.

I would assume SWD goggles with a ballistic lense would be alright for a airsoft only field, but if your playing on a paintball field you would need paintball approved goggles.

royal marine June 18th, 2005 18:05

yeah i know i need the jt's for the paintball field. i didnt get any yet i just saw them on e bay cheap.

The green tinted lenses for them are the laser/ballistic protective lense.
Though the green tint might bother some ppl I find I get used to them pretty fast, and they're great goggles imo if you're in the rain without a hat.
Toughest testing I've been able to do is with a 150% pdi spring and bushings upgrade in my spetz @ 2 feet and they held up fine.
But like others have said some fields wont allow them anyways.

royal marine June 18th, 2005 18:17

ok mate ill get some as there cheap yes they come with 2 lenses clear & tinted. i can always use them doing some diy anyway.
thanks
