Error with the site

Every time I access the site using a saved link since yesterday it sends me to this:

http://www.airsoftcanada.com/profile.php?do=dst

Is there a configuration issue?

Jimski November 7th, 2011 10:14

replace your shortcut line with

http://www.airsoftcanada.com

it works for me on the third attempt lol

BrokenBird November 7th, 2011 10:14

I know, that is how I posted, but it is still a pain in the butt.

Daylight saving always messes with people.

Do a site search for Daylight Saving Corrections (DS Corrections: Always On)

There's been half a dozen threads in the past two days, all starting exactly the same.

ToRN November 7th, 2011 10:43

Done, site still shows wrong time (pre-dst 'fall back') so it's an hour ahead.

Gunk November 7th, 2011 11:25

Yeah me too.

But it works.

That's because you probably have it set to 'always off' and we have it set to 'always on'

Basically it ignores the time change all together and adds that hour for DST.

Theoretically changing to 'always off' during the 'fall back' and 'always on' during the 'spring forward' should fix the problem of being off by an hour. But then again, I already change enough clocks, haha.

Well I went into the CP (just barely) to put it on always off, now it looks like everyone's fine, and ToRN posted at 11:33, which is credible. Could that bug have affected PM's as well?

should affect everything with a timestamp.

The Database brobably records stuff at Zulu time, and when it want to display it, then from the region + DST, it calculate the appropriate time for you. This would affect everything that records time.

This is just what I think it is, I'm not the creator of the site's forum engine lol. But as a programmer... this is how I'd do it!

There have been a few threads that discussed this problem. The following steps resolved it FOR ME - your mileage may vary, but I suspect this should work for you also.

1) Along the menu bar, you'll see navigation options, such as "Home", "Forum", "Classifieds", "FAQ", etc. At the far right of this bar, you will see "IRC" and "Quick Links". Click on "Quick Links", then "Edit Options".

2) In your Edit Options page, scroll down the page to the "Date & Time Options". There is a correction option for Daylight Savings Time (DST Option). By default, it is usually set to "Automatically Detect", and apparently, it sucks hard at being able to detect automatically. Change this option to "DST Correction Always On".

Except for the fact that now, until March 11, 2012, the displayed time will be wrong.

If you want the correct time, choose always off instead. (then always on in march)

Good point

>Rage at times being an hour in advance
>MFW I see at the bottom of the forums "All times are GMT -4. The time now is 14:10."

That means always ON is the right thing to do.
I think.
I'm confuesd

ToRN November 7th, 2011 13:23

Check to see if you have the right time zone set as well, QC is in GMT-5, (add an hour for DST ON and you get GMT-4)

All times are GMT -4. The time now is 15:46.
