Outdoor winter games?

Hello
I was considering getting into airsoft in Calgary however from what I read the outdoor season is ending? I thought airsoft continued through the winter. Is this a bad time to be looking into airsoft or do people still play in winter? From what i gather the only other option is 1 indoor facility in Calgary. Thanks for advice.

Also first time using this phone app hope this comes out right :p

not from calgary so don't know the scene there, but I've played a couple games here in toronto in winter, went to flag raiders which is a outdoor paintball field in the snow haha

but yeah airsoft is ALL SEASONS!!!!!!

just Gas guns won't work well in cold weather, probably wont work at all in cold weather, best to stick with AEGS

We run all winter long.

Usually at least one outdoor game a month. If it's chinookin' out maybe more. Games are usually planned a week or so in advance and if its no lower than about -5 the game is a go.

We ran an outdoor game last January because people were jonesing to play, it was -20. The only thing that had an issue with the cold was batteries. Run a lower fps gun or a springer (ie:bolt action) and you'll have no issues no matter what the weather. Don't bring anything gas powered out to play if it's less than 10.

As Kimbo said, same goes in manitoba. Playing below -5 is generally really bad for your gun, it's right at the point where most hop rubbers start to get too stiff and jam your gun.

I agree. A PTW does well in the cold. But they are expensive. AEG's can blow their mechbox's if its too cold. Gas guns will not hold gas, or expel too much when you fire. And no matter what you use batteries will die faster. There is one good thing about the off season. And that's prices come down. So winter time is a good time to buy at least.

Theirs not as many outdoor games in the winter, but we still play indoors on a weekly basis to tide us over till the spring.

Check out www.jocairsoft.com for more information on games and locations, and other Calgary relevant information.

Thanks for all the information. Pending time and money I'd like to start trying out airsoft. Seems like amazing fun

Its worth the time, and the money. Come to Laser Trek a few time and play and check it out for yourself. Trek has rental guns to help give you a taste of it before dropping huge money into the sport.

I replied to your thread on JOC bout Laser Trek map pics. I have a different username on JOC then i do here, but if you read this post first, PM me and i can send you the pics of the Maps for Trek.
