Mid-length Rail and Barrel length
 

Hello. I'd like to upgrade my ICS M4 so it will look like the rifle on the right side of the picture. I'd like to know if the rail on this picture is either 12.5' or 14'?
Also, my second question is if the rail is, let's say, 12.5', does that mean I need a 14' outer barrel to get this look?

I believe it's standard m4 length so 14.5". Not exactly sure but someone can back me up on this.

14.5" is standard M4 length barrel.

Okay, so if I stick with the standard M4 14.5' barrel on the modification, then the gas block should be small enough to fit inside the hand rail.

Looks like a Daniel Defense MK18 12" RIS, so yes 14.5" barrel, standard M4 length will work. You'll need a low profile gas block, or remove the front sight base.

Madbull makes a replica of the DD MK18 rail, here's a link to the 12" one, or rather 12.25".

Daniel Defense also has a rail that is more drop-in ready, without the need to use a low profile gas block.

Not sure if Madbull carries that though, but there are other similar 12" rails that have the cut out for the FSB, if you don't want to use a low profile gas block.
