Any M16/M4 mechboxes that allow ambidextrous selector switches yet?

Probably gonna need a new one soon, and I figure an ambi-selector would be the final touch to my C8 project. Haven't seen any though, and figured maybe someone out there has.

Mp5s do, i suppose some mod could be done to an m4 one to do the same.

The Acer June 22nd, 2011 20:46

Polar Star Airsoft has a HPA (High Pressure Air) "gearbox" with ambi fire selector on M4/M16

Probably not the answer your looking for, but yes there is one.

Plus you never specified AEG mechbox or gas mechbox lol

This is probably the answer you're looking for: http://www.ebairsoft.com/lonex-taiwa...ox-p-2940.html You'll need the gears to work though b/c it'll not sure I'll come with them.

Where does it say or show u can use an right side/left handed safety?

Every mechbox fit ambi seletors. See that recessed circle near the bottom, that is where the transfer gear goes.

Problem is the clearance in the receiver.

You can order the parts you need from wgcshop (only place I found them). They are replacement parts for King Arms Ambi receivers.

You can take your time, a dremell and a steady hand to modify your current receiver quite easily.

You need:

Don't do the mistake I did and order the correct selector plate (the one in metal). You also need to modify the switch assembly to remove the electrical safety (the two contacts on the exterior) and apply some tape or heatshrink to that section of the selector plate.

There's a circular cutout on the right side of the gearbox by the center bearing. That's where the gears go on my VFC gearbox that makes the ambi selector work anyways.

Every V2 mechbox has that cut-out... even ICS mechboxes (yes, you can install ambi selector on an ICS like I did on mine).

I believe the easiest and cheapest solution is to look for the OEM parts for a VFC SR15. You used to be able to get the selector and the needed components direct.

You are incorrect. The cutout I'm refering to is right beside (touching) the center bushing hole, which this example gearbox and the VAST majority of V2 gearboxes do not have. You can install ambi controls on practically any gearbox but this is one of the few that comes with the cutout pre-cut.

Actually, getting a gearbox from the Dboys KAC PDW, which is a clone of the VFC version would be cheaper, though I don't know if getting the gearbox by itself is any easier to find.

Nice thanks for the above info guys, I always have my gun on safe till I ID a threat then I go hot, doing it with my trigger finger when shooting left handed is a lil akward, time to get out the dremel lol

So buying a complete gearbox is cheaper than a 20 dollar selector system? Are dboys gearboxes that cheap?

Check the parts I linked. Theses are installed in the recessed section showing on both sides, under the selector plate and just above the trigger.

I don't know about the VFC setup, I know that the King Arms one fits on virtually anything and is cheap as hell and is in stock at WGC...

Sorry, use a old topic..

This component list are compatible with ICS M4A1 ?
