G&G M4 Max (GR16 Carbine)

Hey guys,
In December, I pre-ordered the Max M4 plastica for my first airsoft gun. It arrived in good condition. Due to the 430+ fps it has stock, I had the store change the spring so it shoots around 350ish fps.
First time I took it to the field, I noticed that the range was kinda crappy. I first thought maybe the others guys were highly upgraded and I was still learning. Second time I took it out I was playing CBC areas so I didn't really notice it. The third time... I relized something was wrong because my m4 was only shooting 70ft with my hop up turned up and with lofting the BB.

I called the place where I got the gun and they said to put a few drops of silicon oil into the hole where the mag feeds the BB's through. This only made the BB fly to the left and to the right.

I really enjoy airsoft but I'm not getting a good start. Between this gun and my pistol (KJW glock 27) which is getting a part replaced (after shooting around 10 mags off (never been in a game))

Is there something that I could do or try? Is there a part I should replace?

Thanks

Few questions:
1) What is CBC? other then a tv channel...
2) How heavy are the BBs?
3) and do we provided help to someone who is not AV'd?

Also, and I may need to be corrected on this, but I believe that cranking the hop up all the way kills your range.

Mine had the same problem, and it all started when I opened it up. It's possible you have a shitty seal between your hop-up and gearbox, but if you're willing to make your first internal upgrade, for $12 you can get a new hop-up that should do the trick. They can be a bit of a pain in the ass to install, but I found that I was getting far better range with a new hop-up than what I was with the original, and I was also getting a better mag seating.
