parts from Evike.com

OK I've read a lot of post telling me to stay away from Evike.com but they have a slide and barrel I want, but I'm scared to order from them, so does anyone know were else I can get this from.

Just so I understand correctly; you know that it's highly recommended NOT to order from Evike, but you're thinking about it because they have something you want that may or may not be available here in Canada?
There are a few high quality pistol parts available from places listed in the av section. I hesitate letting you know as you're not av'd yourself.

I'm not able to get av at this point. We only have one guy in Newfoundland that does it, and he's about 4-5 hours away from me. The first chance I have to get in to St. John's I will look him up, but I do understand your hesitation.

But for Evike, no I have no intention of ordering from them, I just wanted to know if it was available some place else. I'm assuming it's make from a company called CQB but I can't find the company online to find out how else supplies there products. So I guess in short, if Evike is the only place to get it, then it won't be on my gun.

55 bucks for a complete upper assembly for the hi capa? most likely garbage quality.

R.I.T.Z November 1st, 2010 07:08

i'm pretty sure our resident hicapa master illusion will have it or know where to get it

Daiviet November 1st, 2010 07:17

illusion most likely won't have it, he deals in high quality parts.

Avoid evike like the plague as you were warned in your other thread and many many other threads.

if you value your time (spent following up orders) then don't order from Evike.

I have twice and been very lucky, this was on items IN STOCK and available for them to throw into a box the moment i 'double ordered' (retared about international shipping needing payment first, then a payment for shipping..)

I have a friend that waited 2 months for a hard-to-find part to a WA that they had, expect that if they don't have everything to hand.

actually, expect that to happen every time and you won't be too dissapointed :)

Um maybe I'm wrong here but aren't pistol slides restricted items anyways?

Oh and btw... Evike hasn't stepped up their game at all. I placed an order in June. The order just got here in October. They sent me the wrong parts too.. Charged me $30'usd for shipping when my package shows $8.36usd. Still no refund either. All the parts I ordered have been in stock this entire tome too. Basically it boils down to this: if you can't get the part(s) you're looking for anywhere else, by all means it's your money, you decide.

I was under the impression the only the lower frames were restricted, but slides and barrels were ok to ship to Canada.
As far as waiting 4 months for your parts, and then getting the wrong parts on top of that, you MUST be a very easy going person, cause I would have lost it. I mean, I work hard for my money, as do many, and when I pay for something, I tend to want it the day before I paid for it. My wife says I have no patience. But I don't believe her. lol.

I believe with restricted length pistol slides you'll have some problems too. Otherwise that slide should get through.

Also I'm pretty impatient too. I swear that my elementary school tried to diagnose me with ADD or something. For me if there isn't an explosion or gunfire every 3 seconds it's not interesting to me (that's a hyperbole but I am quite impatient).

I called evike 10+ times and asked for a refund a good 4. Their policies clearly state once you make a payment the only thing you can do is swap an out of stock item for an equal value in stock item. They don't keep track of stock at all. I've dealt with them twice and the first time I let it go. The only reason I ordered a second time is they had a part no other retailer offered. Unless you are willing to go down to their store and cause a giant scene good luck getting your money back.

Evike shipping

Hi,

ive been dealing with Evike too lately. I find their way of doing business very questionnable. Just as an example, all the other places i've been dealing with will clearly state the total amount including shipping costs. Evike don't do it that way, nooooo. They wait till you buy the item, then you think its a total price then they send you a couple days later an e-mail telling you have Insufficient Funds. You then realise they split the shipping cost just so that they (in my opinion) will think it's a good deal, to realise that youre getting screwed on overpriced shipping fees. Anyways as mostly everyone said before, don't buy from them this is the best advice i could give you. This is my first and last buy with them.
