9.6V Ni-CD in a TM Mp5?
Hey guys. I have a stock (I think its stock. I bought it used a while ago) TM Mp5. It seems to be an older model, but its pretty darn nice.
They old owner gave me a 7.2V Battery with it. Which is a POS. I can only use it for about 40 minutes IF I use my peak charger. If I dont, then the battery doesnt turn the gun. So, basically, I was cleaning my room. Found my old RC cars. I came across a 9.6V Ni-CD with a large connector. Meaning it can work with my mp5. Ofcourse, its too big to fit into the stock. (Its a weird shape rectangle thats slightly too big.). I don't plan on using it, just plan on seeing what the firerate would be like compared to the peak charged 7.2V. What I'm getting to is: I obviously have to get a new battery. Should I get a: 8.4V or 9.6v? The old owner suggested a 9.6V but, I'd like a second opinion, ofcourse. (Obviously, I'm gonna go with a Ni-Mh. Not a Ni-Cd. |
I have a 9.6 on my TM MP5... but the MP5 has been upgraded with metal bushings and other stuff. I think putting a 9.6 may put stress on the gearbox a bit if it's stock. I'm not sure maybe someone more knowledgeable can come in.

if it will fit, you'll be fine with a 9.6 mini
