Well that is a royal PITA.

flamshmizer August 11th, 2008 07:23

yeah i was a little confused to but the message i got was that he's now dealing wholesale and not retail.

as if we're gonna be able to get all that stuff from any other 1 place.

Bowers August 11th, 2008 07:24

.....FUCK!.....

SINN August 11th, 2008 08:16

well as long as we all play attention lol.

baker_Jeff August 11th, 2008 09:40

I'll be bringing in some goodies, don't worry!

dpvu August 11th, 2008 10:00

What's this "hand touch feeling" and how can I get it?

Skladfin August 11th, 2008 11:41

i might wanna start wholesale with them

Drache August 11th, 2008 11:51

Ive already been talknig to him about picking up wholesale! Remember their minimum order it $1000 USD!

theguy August 11th, 2008 12:06

group orders?

If the person making the order has a registered business and a minimum $1000 order is made you could do it. :D

panda86 August 11th, 2008 15:28

That sucks big time. Skladfin or anyone else in the business, please wholesale their stuff so that we can still buy it!

Drache August 11th, 2008 15:37

Ive already asked for the new wholesale price list and got an order together, I just need to know what the new wholesale prices will be....

pusangani August 11th, 2008 15:38

To anyone thinking of doing wholesale work with Paul and EBB, please keep this part in mind

"But, my mainly consideration is, how much the final user can save? For example : SLS Tactical Holster 6004 fit 1911, my retail price is USD77.3 shipped. On the other hand, i can offer USD34 for my reseller. I believe reasonable reseller can offer the final buyer at USD65-69. End up over 10% can be saved."

Ebaybanned was successful because it was cheap, continue that trend and everyone will be happy.

Qlong August 11th, 2008 16:44

The shipping was awesome, everywhere (except ehobby) else charged like $10 for some stupid little part.

Except they got worse and worse with shipping times. The last order I made they didn't ship for over 2 weeks, and I had to open a Paypal dispute to get them to ship it.

The only reason that I haven't done business buying from EB wholesale was because I COULDNT match their prices because their wholesale prices weren't low! Now that they are turning to full wholesale and dropping their wholesale prices, I could order from them and provide those prices locally!

Qlong August 11th, 2008 18:08

...hm that's also true. Back in feb, brought in stuff every week and they averaged 8 days to my house from ordering.

Downhill since then.

dude if you can sell at their prices (shipping included) locally, you have one customer here for sure, element ftw!

Schwag August 11th, 2008 18:14

Excuse my ignorance here but was Ebaybanned selling aegs or just parts and accessories? I assume no aegs.
I'd never heard the name til last week.

If all you need is a registered business and $1000 to get some guns, I'm ready, how do we start?

You can't just bypass customs by buying wholesale...

And no they never sold guns.

Qlong August 11th, 2008 18:18

They were, but the Olympics started and 8 factories or how many factories which made AEGs temporarily closed down.

TheToastmaster August 11th, 2008 18:20

Long as local resellers can keep up to par with their prices after shipping, they'll get my business. Ebaybanned has been my favorite HK retailer this past year simply because of how simple their order process is. I do team group orders ranging from $200-800 at least twice a month here, and ebaybanned may not have the catalog that WGC has, but also doesn't have the headache of ordering from RW or WGC, even more so if there's something wrong with the order.
Sad to see them go as a retailer, but hopefully this will turn into something positive.

Crunchmeister August 11th, 2008 18:27

If people don't get greedy and can continue providing ebaybanned products at the same price or cheaper (because Paul made it pretty clear what he thinks "fair" should be - people should be able to sell even CHEAPER than he could), then I'll be buying my ass off from whoever starts carrying his gear.

Being able to get my products fast (ebaybanned were always fast) and not having to worry about customs should they all of a sudden decide some non-prohibited part doesn't get into the country and seize it is a BIG bonus as well.

I think the big this is people making fair profit! buy for $50 and sell for $100. I know that in the few stores Ive managed, the golden rule was sell for 3x what you bought it for. Of course this dealt with retail stores and not online companies. With online companies it's generally 2x. So it all depends on what EB lists their wholesale prices at!

The last time I asked about wholesale from EB lets just say that those weren't wholesale prices! The sold say a scope on their site for $50, their wholesale price for that scope was $35. Not much room for profit there... but now with them dropping out of the retail hopefully their wholesale prices drop, otherwise don't expect people to sell those products here as cheap.

decoy August 11th, 2008 19:53

RIP Ebaybanned retail.

Agreed. I would've liked to grab a couple of things as well. I'm kind of disappointed about this new direction. Hopefully things will go as smooth with Canadian retailers dealing his stuff. And hopefully soon too!

Of course, it's quite dependent on the prices they end up charging for wholesale. Once the stuff gets imported into Canada, duties paid, brokerage, etc, a seller still has to be able to make a fair profit margin to make it worth it.

And just to clarify, when I spoke of getting greedy, I wasn't necessarily speaking about anyone on this forum in particular. To see ridiculous prices on parts and accessories, one needs to look nor further than our 2 last "big" retailers. Their prices for non-restricted items were often double or more what it would cost to get the items from Redwolf or the other Asian suppliers ourselves. That's the kind of thing I hope we don't see on this stuff now that ebaybanned are going this wholesale-only route.

And I also wish I would have made my last order with ebaybanned to. I have a few items in there that I was hoping to get next week. Guess that won't be happening for a while now.

Which is probably the exact reason they did not give notice, everyone would just load up the cart heavily before then, creating a flood of orders for them to try to fill, and probably not in a quick enough manner to satisfy the customers.

surebet August 12th, 2008 00:00

Fuck... still have a bunch of items inbound, theoretically, from them. The one time I do an order too...

pawscal August 12th, 2008 00:34

Yeah but I doubt the resellers will offer free shipping, thus the price might actually increases. Its a shame , i loved ordering whatever I wanted in as little quantity as I wanted.

Nope! You need a business number and/or business license, usually an import number, and have to make a minimum $1000 purchase (this was told to me BY Paul himself)

Nicksthename August 12th, 2008 00:41

you cant get a metal body outside of canada anyways, illegal to import. You only option is getting age verified and buying from the forums here.

theguy August 12th, 2008 00:44

...you can't import the body anyways...get verrified and buy off the classifieds....
and for the mechbox, try airsoftparts.ca
by the way, what brand is your AEG, the mechbox is probably fine...

Nicksthename August 12th, 2008 00:51

but yeah the gun is either dboys m4a1 or uk arm m4a1 so i think the mechbox with need to be replaced sooner or later

If Skladin can do it, it would be great for us the Vancouver people. Thanks, Skladin, but please don't jack up the prices!!!

They probably should leave it as free shipping. Ordering 1000$ of parts is alot to ship. lol

pusangani August 12th, 2008 01:47

I think it would be cool if retailers from each province would step up and deal with EBB, this way the shipping to the final user would be minimal, who's gonna be our Ontario EBB rep?

pawscal August 12th, 2008 01:53

shipping a item from china is actually cheaper than shipping something within ontario.

Drache August 12th, 2008 02:14

OK GOT AN ANSWER BACK!

Wholesale prices are pretty much BS! Knock off approx 25% from the price the store lists it at and there is your wholesale price!

So what I wrote before about a $50 scope being sold wholesale for $35 is still the same! I've got the whole wholesale price list if anyone wants a copy! It's in a microsoft Excel file!

So buying something at $35 and trying to sell it for $50 in country with shipping included is pretty much a bust. I know personally I cant do business at those prices....

Numbers (rough estimates):

$1000 minimum order at 25% discount. Now selling things at the same prices means that your profit margin is only $250 for every $1000! Since this all has to be imported as retail stock for a company duty, taxes, etc must be paid upon it. That drops your profit margin even lower! Lets say that duty and taxes were 14%, on $1000 that would mean $140. So now your profit is only $110 for every $1000.

Now this is really rough figures as some items are 40% discount on wholesale such as some gear items, but most of the accessories are 25% or less.

pusangani August 12th, 2008 02:22

that sux, well keep at it man, try and negotiate something, there's opportunity here, that's for sure

shipping would cost $11, so your basically making only $4 out of each scope, and thats not even counting the duty(Then maybe not even $1!). That example Paul said on the letter is pretty much a BS.

Hash Vapor August 12th, 2008 02:27

I knew it wouldn't work, as he sells to retailers already, and if retailers were able to offer his stuff at competitive prices, they wouldn't be complaining to Paul not to sell to the end user.

I added a rough example to my post but mainly SOME items are MORE than 25% but not many....

Drache August 12th, 2008 02:33

This is the email I sent and the one I received in response:

Man i have an open dispute with ebaybanned right now. its been 2 weeks officially since my transfer of money clear on paypal and everytime I asked them when i can expect a mail off date its "i let you know soon jesse". Moreover, they are trying to argue that they didn't receive my payment until just after the cut off date mentioned on their website. So far i'm not impressed with how things have progressed :S

I had ordered three VN mags from them as well as a trigger guard in a single order! Good to know, I will do that if I don't get it by next Friday. Paul hasn't wronged me yet, so I'll be patient for now. Just find it odd though that I've seen multiple people write about getting tracking, I have made about 6 orders totaling around $450+, never got tracking for anything. Just received this email from ebaybanned. Looks like they're gonna be dealing retail again.

Or did they already ship it? I'm assuming not. I opened a Paypal dispute for my barrel and they shipped it that day. Strange how that works.

Crunchmeister August 15th, 2008 11:31

Personally never had an issue with them. Always have stuff I order in less than a week.

Looks like Paul's move to Wholesale was dealer-motivated.

I just got his from him (as I'm sure you all did):

My, what a tangled web we weave.

On-again retail sales. LOL.

And apparently there is some "special offer" for you people with outstanding orders last week.

We need to delete this thread.
or edit the title and first post.

haha I opened up paypal dispute and they finally gave me the tracking # I've been asking for!

RedSteel666 August 16th, 2008 02:00

I still haven't got anything to indicate resolution on my dispute :(

Logic August 22nd, 2008 17:18

Weird... it's been 15 days since I ordered, and they still haven't given me a tracking number (which I've been asking for). So I filed a paypal dispute, and they refunded my money? Paul left a message in the resolution center saying that:

"your order may or may not be ship, please pay again once order has arrive"

What? I confirmed it and the money is back in my account. I guess I'll have to just wait and see if it shows up.

Hey people, first post here.

I ordered from ebaybanned on the day that they temporarily stopped retail.
I ordered an ACOG-style Red-dot. So the day that they go back into retail, I look at my order and it says "thanks, we will ship you ASAP". The funny thing is, I was never charged via paypal... what does this mean? Is the seller going to let it slide and send it to me anyways? Will it even be sent in the first place? It's been like 10 days since that status was updated and I've heard absolutely nothing from ebaybanned. Is there anything that I can do for an order that I have no idea what it's doing, and that I never even paid for??

Thanks in advance!

Wait another week. If you receive it, then bonus. If you don't then contact them about your order.
