My capa

08-02-2008
This project has been in my mind for the longest time, always wanted a personalized gun and the marui capa has so many aftermarket pieces to it, so its a lot easier.

Gun was obtained through Dracheous (Told you I'd make her beautiful!), and the rest of the parts are just here and there (Thanks again Illusion for getting me a lot of the stuff)

Coolio, update on my pistol including new pics. Externally hasn't changed much but internally its quite the beast. I haven't had a chance to chrony it but I'm quite sure that its shooting somewhere between 380-400 fps. Chronied it last night, on average it was shooting 317 ish with .25 bb's. I blame the lower fps on the cold room (hush Tyson, I know you're still laughing at me haha. I'll make sure to actually test before I post my findings) Hopefully anyways. Some people don't agree with a hogue grip being on a hi-capa because it looks wrong, but when you hold this pistol it just feels so right. It's my CAPS devoted pistol for the time being and will most likely be thrown into the Open Division when we get that going. I'm still debating if I want to throw optics on because I don't want to drill into my beautiful frame. If any of you want to see this and other awesome pistols in action, come down to TTAC3 and get CAPS qualified, you won't regret it.

Once again thank you Brian W. for getting me all the parts to make this thing possible. Now for some pr0n
(excuse my photography skills)

Yea, silver trigger will come once I have expendable cash again. Probably gonna get the PDI one

I've tried the straight trigger, and it feels much better than the curved ones for some reason.

the_griffinator August 3rd, 2008 00:35

looking good. Think it could use different pistol grip though.

skalnok August 3rd, 2008 00:38

that is one piece of sexy gun.

how much did the slide cost and how much did the gun cos tin total?

amano999 August 3rd, 2008 01:48

Nice I like long look of it.

I always like bling cappa's, but then I add up how much it cost to do one up and get cheap and just buy another gun instead.

I'm not gonna total it up because I'll probably cry, especially since I'm not even done upgrading it yet.

What I do remember (and I wish I didn't) is that the slide and the lower extended frame with comp cost me roughly $500. Add on whatever else and then the cost of the gun, it probably cost as much as an upgraded AEG.

RacingManiac August 3rd, 2008 09:35

Hi-Capas are definitely blackhole for hard earned dough....which is why I am trying very hard NOT to get another Hi-Capa to build a race gun.....

NoobSchoolBus August 3rd, 2008 09:48

I was practically drooling when I saw this on Thursday (minus the metal slide). And I agree on the sliver trigger. That would make it look completely badass. I'm so very jealous of you right now. haha

ILLusion August 3rd, 2008 17:12

Looks nice!

I agree on the flat triggers. I personally like them as well, but the PDI Jaggy Type-2 trigger is also very comfy and seems more effective at countering some trigger issues I've seen.

Daiviet December 30th, 2008 01:11

Updated, check original post for it.

The Saint December 30th, 2008 01:14

That's one hell of a case.

Daiviet December 30th, 2008 01:26

yea, its a Warhammer 40k ammo case, comes with eggshell foam to hold models, but I thought it'd be nicer for my gun.

m102404 December 30th, 2008 11:59

Chrony it tonight...! Nice build!

I've got skater tape on my 4.3 limited pistol...Racing Maniac set me up with it....it's got a really nice feel to it, maybe a bit too grippy. Check that out tonight.

Where did you get this, "Freedom Art 7" Frame with Compensator"? Any site is selling this or it is limited item? Thanks.

RacingManiac December 31st, 2008 16:50

where do you source the fibre optic material? That might a a good way to improve the visitbility of the Hi-Capa sight....

Get a black magwell from Brian too...:D

Daiviet December 31st, 2008 18:09

magwell will be when i get some more funds, becuase i love how easy it is to reload with it.

For the sight, Shooters Design makes one with the holes for the fibre's to fit in so you can try that if its ever in stock, but mine...... hehe. I stole the green fibres from one of my warhammer models. These guys are great for them.

Through the magical powers of the internet. You might want to try it out one day, I hear its a nifty invention.

EN SABAH NUR January 1st, 2009 04:30

Nice build. Now practice your speed reloads!

takealap April 30th, 2009 06:53

How'd you get the fibre optics in the stock rear sight?

Daiviet April 30th, 2009 08:21

I literally drilled a hole through the rear sight and shoved the green rods in. Only problem is that the green rods were a bit too large so it'd interfere with the rest of the sight, so I had to cut along the length of it, so only half of it sticks out the front.
