Hello from a fellow Newfoundlander!

First of all, get Age Verified before you buy anything.

I personally like the Beretta 92 better. Go gas instead of springer since they are generally a waste of money.

Check out ASA for pistols.

thanks for the link. but, for some reason, I keep getting "there are no items in this catagorey" o_O

Molson February 23rd, 2007 15:29

click handguns, then click browse all brands

Zareth February 23rd, 2007 15:40

ah, thanks for that.

kalnaren February 23rd, 2007 16:52

Yea, you have to get age verified before you can purchase anything. Also, most people generally consider it to be a better idea to start out with an AEG before a pistol, as in a normal game a pistol is seldom used.

Make sure you check out the newbie guides in the FAQ section of these forums too before doing anything else.

right then, will do that. also, i'm 16 myself, just wondering if my dad could order the stuff, though when i'm in a match down at the field theres some security dude there to ensure safety, would that cause any problems if my dad ordered it?

attack-beaver February 23rd, 2007 17:10

here comes the gray locks monster :D

Greylocks February 23rd, 2007 17:17

The only way this can happen is if your dad is present at all times you use his gun (you cant own it if under 18). He cant legally give it to you.

If you want to avoid all the headaches, wait until you are 18. By then you should have more money for a really decent gun.

Like Greylocks said, the only way this could happen is if your dad is with you 100% of the time you use it. Also, some airsoft fields don't allow under-18 players. Some do, but some don't.

Zareth February 23rd, 2007 17:34

decent? I work at a tim hortons after school and on weekends 3-9. by the time i'm 18 i'd have nough for an entire armory O_O and yeah, he says it's fine and that he'd keep watch, he's a skilled hunter and marksman so he shouldn't have trouble spotting any casualties.

attack-beaver February 23rd, 2007 17:37

airsoft is not cheap by a long shot.

heres a good price run down for a starter set-up so you can get the idea.
lets say TM-M4 new type = 545 CDN
8.4V 600mA Mini Battery = 65 CDN
M16 Hi-Cap Mag (300 Rd) = 70 CDN
40mm Red Dot Scope = 90 CDN (scope not needed but its a good buy for a starter)
that comes to $770 for every thing you need to get going so think hard.

but also if you wait till your 18 you can get verified and go used and get all that for like 500 maybe a bit cheaper or more

Zareth February 23rd, 2007 17:39

*calculates* should have all that within a month if i play my cards right.

Molson February 23rd, 2007 17:51

Don't forget to add gear and clothing on top of that.

Pip February 23rd, 2007 18:06

Yeah there isn't a way around the age verification, but if you talk to local players you might be able to rent until you are 18. An AEG is the way to go though, sidearms are only any good in CQB and even then once you run out of ammo for your primary lol...i first found out about airsoft when i was 16 as well, but the wait is definately worth it. It gives you plenty of time to read up on the sport and also time to have a good look at what is out there in terms of gear. And hey, in two years there will be better equipment out there so stick around and read. :)

Zareth February 23rd, 2007 18:13

ok then, thanks pip.

oh and is buyairsoft.ca (i think thats what it's called..) a relieable trustworthy site? j/w cause brad was telling me about it

Pip February 23rd, 2007 18:47

I personally haven't ordered from them but they have a thread somewhere, head over and check out what people say. i think the general consensus is that they are good guys but the products they are selling aren't of the highest quality (other than the few ICS guns thy have in stock), but a bit of reading up/e-mailing them and you should get the info you need to do some further research.

Zareth February 23rd, 2007 20:44

ok then.

btw your name reminds me of that little british kid from south park o_O

Mr.Planters February 28th, 2007 22:30

well..honnestly I think airsoft is actully pretty cheap, I just left paintball, I was playing cxbl wich is the pro league and it cost me over 4000$ for the equipement only not to mention the balls...

I wont bother you with <<you are not old enough!!>> or <<having a airsoft gun is illegal>>

but I would go with a g&g m4 full metal,easely upgradeble

Droc February 28th, 2007 23:09

Check with your local age verifier. Many of us will not, under any circumstances verify a parent who is not an avid player themselves.

Jackie Boy May 23rd, 2007 14:01

I dont think we have an age vertifier here in the great island of Newfoundland... I was also wondering if BuyAirsoft.ca was trustworthy, anyone know ?

gamz May 23rd, 2007 14:08

Buyairsoft.ca is not selling any airsoft merchandise for 3-6 months apparently.

I know that Gerkraz is a Newfoundland age-verifier.

Check out the Atlantic Games forum, there are a few NL games.

Jackie Boy May 23rd, 2007 21:48

Thanks gamz ! I'll have to look at getting a airsoft gun from A&A, or I might just get a AK-47 from Frontline Paintball...for now that is...hahaha
