face camo removal

hello everyone my question is what is the best way to take off face camo because soap and water doesnt seem to work so well

???????

gandar March 26th, 2006 14:25

Either wet naps (or those wetnap things you can buy in the white tub), or put hand cream on your face before you cam up. If you put hand cream on, you can wash your cam off with a little bit of effort and water, soap is almost unneaded.

Ph0_Eat3r March 26th, 2006 14:27

yeah the cream sorta makes my face shiny and the camo too so i dont like to use it but the wet wipes can take off the camo without me having to add cream to my face before aplying camo right?

gandar March 26th, 2006 14:29

Should... and if you put just a bit of regular hand cream on your face first, it shouldn't make anything shiney... I don't know what you're using, but clearly it's different than any hand cream I've ever seen.... I know the handcream thing works because I've used it, along with many others I know in the field, and it was actually a tip one of my buddies gave me who discovered it in the field.

Dozer_01 March 26th, 2006 14:31

Shaving cream works wonders....

Ph0_Eat3r March 26th, 2006 14:35

oohh ok thanks for the info

Drake March 26th, 2006 14:43

they sell camo removers (in wetnap format) at hunting supply stores. they work well and leave you smelling like the inside of a rental car (don't ask)

GraveTech March 26th, 2006 14:47

make up remover... it ain't just for girls

thorvald March 26th, 2006 14:56

Shaving cream (foam) and a towel.

We swear by it and we have a habit of wearing alot of face camo...

CDN_Stalker March 26th, 2006 15:04

Depends which type of camo yo uare wearing, some things work better than others. Me, I'll say shaving cream with the rest of them, but I found that baby wipes work great, and don't leave that sticky funny smell that shaving cream does.

Wetstone March 26th, 2006 15:09

Yeah, shaving cream's pretty good.
...I find varsol does the trick too.

Wetstone March 26th, 2006 15:10

...just for clarification.
Don't actually put varsol on your face.

AvroAero March 26th, 2006 15:40

Turpintine.

CDN_Stalker March 26th, 2006 16:00

I've heard of some guys using......................................

*****!!!!

Hehe, been a while, sorry, carry on.

AvroAero March 26th, 2006 16:10

You didn't happen to drink the turpintine did you stalker?
:P

Lisa March 26th, 2006 17:05

I wonder how that orange clean stuff would work, you know the stuff in the canadian tire ads for cleaning your hands after you get them dirty working on your car?

Hades March 26th, 2006 17:09

it works quite well and leaves you smelling like a creamsicle

Lord Jebus March 26th, 2006 17:15

That orange cleaner is made by permatex... good stuff but it has little abrasives in it... wouldn't be too comfortable scratching up your face if you have sensitive skin...

something else that would work great is the cream that mechanics wear on their hands ... it's basically a liquid glove... put that on your face first and the camo on top of that... it doesn't dry shiny and washes of with water.

shaving cream works great
clean and clear foaming make-up remover(water-proof) works best. My fiance uses it and I use it post-game. girls item or not, it works better then anything.

R.A.T.M._JLD March 27th, 2006 01:57

Baby wips

I have a tub of this stuff in my garage, just for my dirty hands after molesting my car. The abrasive is fine sand, and i really dont think it would disturb sensitive skin at all, really.. unless ive got a better tub then everyone else.

I can say i have used on my face, but i did it where i had running water to take it off quickly tho.. I dont think you'd want that shit seeping into your eyes..

I think oxy works becuase I use it to remove permanate marker on random surfaces that I draw on...

Malfrat March 27th, 2006 07:10

I use baby wipes at the field and shampoo (Head & Shoulders) in the shower after the games to clean my face. Works #1 for me.

Fast Orange. The best stuff ever. You don't even need water, just wipe it off with a towel. It works better that way, because then your face isn't wet if you have to go at it again some more; Fast Orange doesn't actually work as well when the surface (hands, face, etc) is wet. It's fine on your face too, just don't rub it into your eyes. That sand is actually pumice, often used as an exfoliant in cosmetics.

That's my vote, both mine and my sensitive skin. I use it for getting grease off my hands and camo on my face, and nothing works better or more thoroughly, and it's all-natural too, if that makes you feel better.

Big N March 27th, 2006 19:44

You guys ever tried Irish Spring soap? That stuff could peel the paint off a car.

*CRASH* March 27th, 2006 19:58

The CF bug juice works well too... If you're using a cam stick, the old style hard stick, pour bug juice in your hand then rub the stick into it and apply the cam... the bonus is not only does the cam come off easy but during summer the mosquitos stay way. When your done use bug juice or skin-so-soft and it comes right off... then wash normally with soap water.

Droc March 27th, 2006 20:36

doesnt the CF bug juice....like cause cancer?

Don't worry about cancer...remember Chuck Norris beat cancer by flexing for a few mins...

bean March 28th, 2006 08:32

Every thing about the canadian forces causes cancer. You come to terms with it after awhile. The current issue 28% deet bug spray they give us says to not be applied to skin. It stripped the yellow paint off my bfa when the bottle exploded in my tac vest.

gandar March 28th, 2006 08:59

lmao Yeup, that about summs it up... but it keeps the bugs away don' it?
....There're two ways to do things... The right way, and the army way.
