yup WE tech as a new pistol comin out the WE Full Metal High CAPA 5.1 DRAGON
now THAT is hawt!
Anyone own one of these WE full metal hi-capa type pistols? They look pretty decent, and for a fraction of the cost of a FMU WA pistol, I'm certainly interested in knowing more...
WOW! I am getting one for sure.
I'm interested because of the decreased weight of the slide... this thing could actually have decent blowback.
Man that thing looks so nice!
hmm looks really nice...i hope it has no cool down efect. does the ver 3 cool down efect?
i fired with a WE hicapa yesthurday and it fills realy nice with a good blowback.
That looks more for collection purposes...

So is the gun out or is it comming out? How much do you expect this thing to cost? On the spec arms pre-order post on there forum, they are selling WE hicapas for 225 but they are not the dragon version.
Too Pimped out for me.. I like my regular WE HiCap
So do these WE guns actually perform well or no? Any info from someone that has one? Would it be a better choice to spend the extra 100 or so to get a TM hicapa?
The WE's are solid... no doubt about it. I could toss it down my stairs and probly do no harm to it.
They're Propane ready out of the box, so power isn't an issue either. Just the cool down is the only gripe. They don't like you to go trigger happy. The gas cools off alot faster than 134a or Green and you loose all power. I'd say 10 fast sucsessive rounds will bring it to a screeching halt. If you're mindfull of not just 'going to town', it's fantastic performer. No jams, missfeeds, or other assorted issues. |
Wait, so WE pistols are full metal, durable, propane ready out of the box and costs even less than a metal KJW Para or KSC 1911-derivatives? What's the catch? Is there a catch, or just the cool down issue?
No catch. Yet again a gun is released that is beautiful yet you still have people waisting time on TM plastic stuff. Where is the pride in owning a TM plastic Hi Capa when you could have this?

To be fair, there are indeed drawbacks. Gas consumption is greatly increased due to the weight of the slide. Even during regular temperature, you can fire the gun fast enough to run out of gas before you run out of BBs, even on a full fill. A lot of upgrades, even though they're technically compatible, don't work in the WE hicapa. Highflow valves cause the aforementioned problem to become even more prevalent, same with upgraded hammer springs. Upgraded recoil springs will cause a number of problems with feeding and gas consumption and the slide not locking back.

Wow,nice gun
:-) |

As for upgrades... HUH??? The damn thing is all metal and shoots 320+ fps on Propane. What on Earth needs to be upgraded?????????!!! LOL |

OMG... with C02, you've effectivly killed it as a gaming gun. Thats 90-110psi, your talking just shy or over 400fps.
However, a regulated external gas rig (while ugly as sin) could solve the problem. |
[threadjack]This is for any WE highcapa owners - what is the difference/improvements btwn the version 1,2 and 3? I really like the classic lines of the version 1, are their any problems with it?[/threadjack]

Don't knock it till you've tried it. I can unload 2 full mags of rapid-firing with both my TM hi-capas, both with metal slides (one PGC Springfield slide, one Shooter's Design Hybrid slide) both with high flow valves and power bulbs installed (both of which increase gas consumption.) Both shoot 340-350fps on propane. The pride in owning the TM piece is knowing that you have a quality piece in your hand, engineered from the ground up. WE has copied that. If you've ever studied manufacturing, you'd know that copying something will never get you to similar tolerance levels as engineering it yourself. Not without many many revisions. Here's an analogy: There are MANY cars out there that can perform the same or even better than a Lamborghini. In that case, why buy a Lamborghini? |
