To all those asking about the buyairsoft version, I purchased one but its the CQB edition with the shorter barrel. Its the R4 version and has the slightly more tented lower receiver. The upper receiver is plastic but I couldn't tell at first, because it felt metal cold and has awesome texturing. What surprised me however, is the fact that it has the exact same branding as the mach 1 version of the op! (machine shop, etc, etc). The gun is of very high quality, the weight is perfect, and everything else as as shown by the op.

The ones at Mach1Airsoft no longer have the Combat Machine markings. They have proper markings. EDIT: Pictures of the new receiver has been added to the review.

Could anyone compare this to the ICS clear M4 sold by Mach 1?

ICS M4s' upper and lower receiver separate just like a real AR or like a PTW. They do not have metal uppers. I think the gear box is different as well. The forward assist knob also releases the spring tension. You can watch YouTube - ICS AEG M4 main disassemble for more details.

From what I've heard (third party info here) the ICS plastic guns are actually of poorer quality than their full metal counterparts (and of poorer quality than G&G halfbreeds). Otherwise ICS guns are better than G&G ones in every respect.

Im not sure if the one im talking about from BuyAirsoft is the newer version of the one you got, but the G&G M4 CQB has a metal upper receiver. Correct me if im wrong but thats what it says on the website. :D

Has anyone removed the front sight and attached a gas block? If so any recommendations?

fleuryfighter December 30th, 2010 13:32

I found out a way to. There is a pin or two under the sight that you pop out and then you have to unscrew the flash hider, after that you can pull it out! :P and then I'll buy a ris gas block. :D

there made onto the barrel... ive tried to pop the pins out but there made with the barrel in the same mold. :( youd have to cut the sight off.

your way works for every other brand as far as i know but G&G

You can get them on this site in the classified and retailer sections, but you must be age verifed first.
