I am happy your friends parents have a brain, becouse the average 16 year old is an undisciplined, I know everything turd bag, and is not smart enough to not get him self shot by the cops. there are kids aroundf my house that run around with soft air, I want to find out where they live and slap there parents.

Umm, is there some way i can defend my maturity and common sense as a 16 year old? This is for me only here, because there are a lot of 16 year old idiots. I ve seen em all.

Erm...16 year olds unite!

Just cause some of them are idiots, and do regrettably stupid things, (We all have to admit we have, no matter how old/young we are) but a small percentage of us wouldnt run around outside with airsoft/softair. Respect the ones who kick ass!

Really stupid of a company to risk a lawsuit over that. It's funny that eye protection is required, but there are none near the product. There have been recent cases at Canadian Tire where ammunition sales have been made to people without a PAL. Bottom line, companies don't care until they are sued. Personally I don't care if some dim wit shoots his Own Eyes out. What bothers me is that the fallout and media coverage may prompt further restrictions of our hobby. If you think a store is selling airsoft to underage, drop an email to head office. You are protecting our hobby. I think that we are one or two well publicized incidences from huge restrictions or an all out ban.

18 years, no if and's or buts. I have no doubt that you are a mature, decent guy. There unfortunately is no means test to prove that. The accepted bench mark of adulthood and "maturity" is 18. And sometimes, I and many other players just want to be around other adults. Most players are well into their mid 20's plus. Quite frankly it's nice a nice break to be around adults for a few hours and not have to worry about adolescents and children. In a few years I have no doubt that you will agree.

Thats bullshit the law says that you must be 18 or with a parent.

I guess those guns are for target shooting?

Just bought a .177 BB gun/Pellet gun (combo gun!) from wal-mart, to hold me over until I get my AK47S fixed. I noticed that the soft air guns were not behind the glass! I've never noticed this before, and then the traditional kids walk up with their parent/guardian, and ask said parent/guardian if they can buy one of the cheap crapsoft guns (although they're far more enthusiastic about it).

I bought a cheap Daisy air rifle, that said on the box "for ages 10+". The highest it went on any of their products was 16+...but all said with supervision by an adult. When they were ringing in the items: bbgun, bbs (6000 for $13!), pellets...each time the register said Check for ID/Check age...did the lady at the counter do so?

No.

Over at Canadian tire though (I looked around for the best price) all you could see was "AIR GUN POLICY" stickers on nearly every corner of the different sections of glass. I didn't buy anything, but I would assume they would check for ID...what with all those labels and stickers and such.

P.S.
Does anyone have a link to the law saying that it is 18+? From what I've seen today, it appears to be a guideline...depending on store policy only.

FOX_111 November 4th, 2006 18:20

What's all the fus recently with minors and airsoft. It's been decided it's 18+. It aint going to change. No amount of wining will get minors a gun.

Wallmart is being stupid with crapsoft. I'm sure it will change because those crap guns are all over the schools and more bad exposure is waiting to happen.

Where are all the soccer moms when we need them?
I never knew I would say that one day!
