Like a gun in the air or muzzle down or slung on the back. Or seeing someone's back.

"Is he hit? I dunno, his back looks sort of threatening, better put another 20 rounds in him"

Those are the type of people that shouldn't be handling real guns in any sort of stressful situation. Way too jumpy and don't think.

could be ricochets when people are clearing out the one in the chamber bb..
I have been shot after a match, or even before a match...Some kid shot a tree in front of me when we were just walking into the field..bounced right into me..not one, but a bunch of bbs..

I find that sometimes I can't hear the match over called by the ref..They don't use mics in the outdoor field here..I remember during a match I was engaging 4 people when I traded shots with the 3rd guy, we noticed the match was over lol..

Some people think I fall under this issue because of all the gear I wear, but from my years of playing, I have come up with a few ideas on how to solve some this issue. I've actually had someone complement about how well I call my shots even if I'm dressed as a Spartan II.

1) wear thinner jackets/coats. Biggest issue really does become the fact that you're so distracted in the fight that you can't hear them bouncing off, but you're also prohibiting your movement and flexibility.

2) Don't like shelling down, shell up: use armour that makes lots of noise when it- hard helmet, knee-shin pads, elbow-forearm pads, (personally I use shoulder guards and thigh plates as well) and hard vest. Anything that isn't cushiony and poofy.

3) Go Rambo (+gogs): I've seen some players run bare, but if you don't like the idea of getting welts, this probably isn't such a good idea.
