I have a question for the AK snobs ;) ; what is the largest battery you can fit into an AK74U (CYMA or other brand). I am interested in getting one as I love the small compact look, but if the battery storage is crap I'll just grab a full stock AK like a compact 105. I'm looking to use LiPos in it; I correctly have two 7.4v 1200mAH stick lipos and two other 11.1v 1800mAH blocks (which wouldn't fit for sure). A little help?

Might be a weird question

But does anyone know if the G&G RK series guns has *steel front sights and barrels?
I know Capital airsoft says full steel.

https://store.albertaairsoft.com/gan...4n-aeg/dp/4029
But I've had airsoftdepot advertise a part steel gun as full steel.

I know some people have the AKMS
I wouldn't mind getting some feedback from a quick magnet test on that either.

I'm more concerned about high wear parts like
*folding stock hinges/Stock trunion
*front sights (Not hard to break the ears)

Upper receiver/Rear sight block is a plus

Pretty obvious lower receiver, some companies like CYMA, APS have been advertising steel construction despite using low strength alloys so one can never be too sure :D

Thanks Comrades!

Some of the new G&G model's externals are Oemed by LCT. Though some are the older grub screw construction instead of pins(the aims is an example of this)

not sure on the new models with battery handguards.

"It comes with a lipo charger and 2 lipo battery handguards. This unique propritary design molds the batteries into the handguard making for quick and easy battery changes."

A guy i know has the aims and the aks-74u (toptech) both look like lct guns but the aks-74u is really really picky on mags.

I thought the same way then looked at some of the their models through the exploded view on their site.

I'm starting to doubt their AKMS is Oem'ed by LCT

Maybe the lower

i've seen one in person though havnt inspected it. The finish is bang on for a lct gun...

Looking at the schematics, I'm sure LCT OEM'd the Lower and upper, but pinned front sight
gas block seem very non LCT.

I'm considering swaping my potmetal sight on my Dboys for the G&G one if it's steel. Seems easier then trying to fit a real Bulgarian sight.

I'll see if it works with CYMA.
Stock looks compatible with CYMA guns
I have a friend with a CYMA AK74 with a broken stock great opportunity to do a dissection.

-On another note kilter I fixed the loose sight drum on the Kalash AKMS by installing a real sight drum and sight from a east german AKM.
-Crooked sling loop on the stock release button was starting to get to me until I found it had a allen grub screw. Loosen screw turn the sling mount re-tighten.

Now it's one of my favourite guns!

The G&G AKMS is OEM'd by LCT. It's pretty much an LCT with a G&G gearbox and hop up. I'm not sure why G&G did that, but it was probably so the receiver could withstand the stresses of the folding stock. The normal G&G receivers made of magnesium can't handle it very well.

IMO, don't go with G&G externals for any builds because they have proprietary construction at times and their AK-74 style flash hiders look silly because the enlarged external diameter around the threads is longer than the actual AK-74 style flash hider. LCT, DBoys, CYMA, VFC, Guarder and Inokatsu got it right, G&G didn't. Same thing with their AK-104 front sight set.

Stick with LCT, unless you're going to go real steel because LCT externals are made of the highest strength steel available in the airsoft world at the moment. Plus, they attach easily with a grub screw and don't require the use of the pins unless desired.
