Except they got worse and worse with shipping times. The last order I made they didn't ship for over 2 weeks, and I had to open a Paypal dispute to get them to ship it.

The only reason that I haven't done business buying from EB wholesale was because I COULDNT match their prices because their wholesale prices weren't low! Now that they are turning to full wholesale and dropping their wholesale prices, I could order from them and provide those prices locally!

Qlong August 11th, 2008 18:08

...hm that's also true. Back in feb, brought in stuff every week and they averaged 8 days to my house from ordering.

Downhill since then.

Excuse my ignorance here but was Ebaybanned selling aegs or just parts and accessories? I assume no aegs.
I'd never heard the name til last week.

If all you need is a registered business and $1000 to get some guns, I'm ready, how do we start?

You can't just bypass customs by buying wholesale...

And no they never sold guns.

They were, but the Olympics started and 8 factories or how many factories which made AEGs temporarily closed down.

Long as local resellers can keep up to par with their prices after shipping, they'll get my business. Ebaybanned has been my favorite HK retailer this past year simply because of how simple their order process is. I do team group orders ranging from $200-800 at least twice a month here, and ebaybanned may not have the catalog that WGC has, but also doesn't have the headache of ordering from RW or WGC, even more so if there's something wrong with the order.
Sad to see them go as a retailer, but hopefully this will turn into something positive.

If people don't get greedy and can continue providing ebaybanned products at the same price or cheaper (because Paul made it pretty clear what he thinks "fair" should be - people should be able to sell even CHEAPER than he could), then I'll be buying my ass off from whoever starts carrying his gear.

Being able to get my products fast (ebaybanned were always fast) and not having to worry about customs should they all of a sudden decide some non-prohibited part doesn't get into the country and seize it is a BIG bonus as well.

I think the big this is people making fair profit! buy for $50 and sell for $100. I know that in the few stores Ive managed, the golden rule was sell for 3x what you bought it for. Of course this dealt with retail stores and not online companies. With online companies it's generally 2x. So it all depends on what EB lists their wholesale prices at!

The last time I asked about wholesale from EB lets just say that those weren't wholesale prices! The sold say a scope on their site for $50, their wholesale price for that scope was $35. Not much room for profit there... but now with them dropping out of the retail hopefully their wholesale prices drop, otherwise don't expect people to sell those products here as cheap.

RIP Ebaybanned retail.

I wish he would have gave a little notice. I sure would have liked to purchase my last cart contents. Oh well.

Agreed. I would've liked to grab a couple of things as well. I'm kind of disappointed about this new direction. Hopefully things will go as smooth with Canadian retailers dealing his stuff. And hopefully soon too!

Of course, it's quite dependent on the prices they end up charging for wholesale. Once the stuff gets imported into Canada, duties paid, brokerage, etc, a seller still has to be able to make a fair profit margin to make it worth it.

And just to clarify, when I spoke of getting greedy, I wasn't necessarily speaking about anyone on this forum in particular. To see ridiculous prices on parts and accessories, one needs to look nor further than our 2 last "big" retailers. Their prices for non-restricted items were often double or more what it would cost to get the items from Redwolf or the other Asian suppliers ourselves. That's the kind of thing I hope we don't see on this stuff now that ebaybanned are going this wholesale-only route.

And I also wish I would have made my last order with ebaybanned to. I have a few items in there that I was hoping to get next week. Guess that won't be happening for a while now.
